I agree. There is absolutely no reason why players have to run thier markers at 300, 300, 300!!!

If you want to be safe in the knowledge that you not gonna get a hot gun, turn it down a bit.

I would rather have all 7 markers on the field firing at 290 than 4/5 firing at 299.

It just doesn't make sense that in the final of a major event you would want to risk giving the other team the advantage by gaining penalties before you've even started the game!!!

More Controversy:

****ty air fills:

On Friday if you were in the morning club and you had Angel airs you were fuxxored. I lost 4 angel airs on that morning due to flash filling compressors. The WDP booth were doing almost exclusively AIR repairs because of that...

we had to play 3 games with six guns directly because of this...

Peace

p.s: Thanks again for the tall blonde haired dude from Kelly's for lending us his kit in one game. You rule mate!

Over the limit is over the limit. Thats the way it is.
Ok - I understand the logic behind the pre-game chrono check, when the marshalls call for guns down just prior to the start, it's a great idea. But when a marker has been sitting idle, especially in the hot sun for 10 minutes, the chances are pretty good that the first ball out of it is going to be hot.

Therefore, wouldn't it be better to rate it on the first 3? If you shoot the first ball hot, say 301-305, and every subsequent shot is 300 or less, it should tell you that the gun is not shooting hot because it is dialed up too high. We're it to shoot the first two or more over, or any of them over 311, then you could justify eliminating the marker. But there has to be some allowance for that first ball. Not much, but a little.

And I definitely agree that the first shot is dangerous if it's over, but if it drops down to 290-295 on the shots following it, how can you justify turning it down? Then you've got a first shot of 295, and all subsequent shots are 275-280? That isn't right either.

I'm also not trying to argue for the sake of arguing either. But it just makes sense. Not everything is so black and white.

Over the limit is over the limit. Thats the way it is. I agree on that one, that players which shoot after "guns down" should be eliminated as well. I will work on that one.

joern.
im with sykesg on this one, one of the players on our team has reg creep, so the first shot is always over 300 fps, but as soon as its fired it goes back down to be a consistant 285 and totally safe

Air

We had 4 airs go down on the sat morning session (one went down twice) Lucky i took two spare markers with air and a spare separate air system.

Thanks to the infiltrators for the loan of the angel even tho they were playing the next game. We owe you guys big time. This was after the airt started to piss out at the chrono onto field.

Was this definately because of the fills

Certainly, can you point him out? No? Didn't think so.

Sorry, but as soon as anyone mentions hot guns everyone starts screaming "eye's!".. doesn't seem to matter whether it be 301 or 501.

I'm not saying hot guns should not be penalised, it's a safety issue and has to be dealt with, but if you are going to have rules apply them consistantly, with penalties for ANYONE who breaches those rules, regardless of promotor, sponsor, team, or player! That way no-one has any grounds for complaint.

If Dynasty fired off a shot then they should all have been eliminated... there shouldn't be any "working on it" as far as saftey is concerned. Either your serious about the rules or you are not. The less consistant the rules or their application, the more some players will try their luck...

In my opinion, the first time a player loses an eye to a paintball on field at a tournament will be to a "legal" marker either because he/she took his mask off, it fell off, or (more likely in my opinion as no-one ever seems to check) the lens has received numerous close range shots over a period of time and hasn't been replaced as per manufacturers instructions.

The problem is the pushbutton filling!

In the past you had the "turn the handle and air comes" system and now we have the "push the button and air comes" system.

The first one was good as it was more gentle on the regs but the second one lets 4500/3000psi instantly into your bottle as you press the button.

And thats not good since the springs/internals doesnt have time to react. Angel airs are especially picky about that.

Something MUST be done!

Then Mr Gadget Wizard :)

..as they say "We got a problem"!!!!

A team shells out crazy money for entry fee/paint/hotel/etc.. and now his investment and results are jeopardized by the air fills.

This is not right and the EPA should handle this towards the Mill organizers with high attention!

Peace
p.s: I had to buy 3 new air systems just to be able to compete after Friday morning 3 of our airs went down. And thats a lot of moolah!
