Dirt may seem harmless but that's what congeals very quickly and causes horrible rust. So if you're looking to re-sell one day, you need to keep it as clean to prevent damage. Especially in the winter when salt on the road will do very noticeable damage in no time at all, considering they salt if the chances of a frost that night has any liklihood at all.
