Used my mini for the 1st time at the weekend and I have to agree with Bolter I didn't have any accuracy problems with the stock barrel at all.

Now the early production problems have been ironed out (yes I did have one of the 1st ones and hated it) they are a fantastic marker.

Only thing I have done to mine is put a sythe style trigger on as thats my preferance.

Id just like to point out that accuracy is to do with yourself number 1, and 2nd the paint quality. It has nothing to do with barrel length, or barrel type for that matter

i wasn't saying minis aren't accurate but you can improve on them and if barrels make no difference why have different lengths bore sizes and porting?

I have some knowledge about ballistics and trajectory
and barrels have a huge effect on how any gun shoots.

and playing rec ball a 12" barrel doesnt have the range try a longer barrel and see for yourself.

Ok, I own a Mini and from personal experience they are no more accurate/ less accurate than other leading makes such as Dye and Planet Eclipse Egos (I have had a few shots with them and played a game with a DM7). Thus, I would say go for a Mini, due to price. I'm not sure how much you can get a new Shocker for but last time I looked the Mini was far cheaper and is just as nice to shoot as any other mid/high range gun. The Mini is very easy to do basic maintenance on, just one screw and you can clean/ re-lube the bolt.

Hope this helps you :)

It does!If you have two barrels which are identical in everyway except length, they will both project the paintball the same distance. It takes the paintball 6" (I think) to reach its maximum velocity so therefore any extra length after that will not make the ball travel further as its already going at maximum speed.

You directly suggested that minis arent accurate and shockers were. And suggesting a longer barrel to fix the problem is definitely not true either. Guns and markers are two different things. Bullets arent filled with liquid for one thing.

Ive shot many types of barrel over the years, a tube is a tube is a tube. As long as its not a silly massively over bored barrel, any barrel will be fine. Companies make all these barrel kits, with new patented funky porting, rifling, 10 bore sizes, 3 lengths...... and you know what, its all for the bling of it. I have a kit, only ever use one front, and one back. All the others are like new.

Shame really.
