Premier League at all other MS events (new 7 man format & points used for promotion to EXL)

Div 1, 2 &3 at all events (standard 7 man format)

none of this is confirmed, i may be way off here, but this is my interpretation of what has been written on p8ntballer and the press releases on MS website.

same old wories mind - 3 different formats????

hopefully soon someone who can confirm would be kind enough to let us know what we are going to do this season! the registration form for Germany is already available, and we dont know what format we are playing yet!
Rumours, Again :( says that it will be announced this week !

But then again, things has been changed back and forth so many times already..
At least they have to tell us at the captains meeting in Germany :D

nick its not that i disagree but

for instance in another post on here regarding paintball becoming mainstream and maybe a olympic sport??

the nail was hit on the head in that post until we have a governing body we will not amount to anything as a sport and when i say a governing body i do mean a worlwide one not just the countrywide ones we have at the moment??

so in order for us to get the coverage we want i think that this is the way forward and not reducing the amount of teams that are going to play major events and thus decreasing the revenue and amount of people coming into the sport by not putting some sort of prize structure in for the novice/rookie teams.

for instance like rich said we are playing div 2 this year this is not due to a great sponsorship deal or anything just that we do believe that as a team we require better quality of teams to play against and we want to get better and evolve as a team.(even though i do thank people in my sig these are just people supporting us not paying for our flights hotels even just paint.)

"GET OUT OR GET GOOD"
this is another thing that made me laugh in order to get good a team needs to train and enter tournaments that provide prizes to give those teams something to work towards otherwise the word team means nothing when they have no will or want to win as they see nothing at the end of the tunnel as it were.

this is just my opinions and not those of my team or support group(aa)

Really? What about wanting to be the best, wanting to win, wanting to improve, wanting to enjoy yourself?

That's why I've done every sport I've ever competed in - f-ck prizes or sponsorship.

well??

there is playing for the want of playing but as we have been in sport a while now and want to see our hard work pay off would also like to see the work of the smaller teams pay off with summat other than a "thanks for coming well done on winning ure division and hope to see u again soon in a higher division"

just think it will leave alot of the smaller teams left wanting thats all what about my other points any comment on them?

hmmm, well I agree with Nicks blunt point to a degree, however I'd also argue that any hobby or activity that wants more mainstream recognition whether sporting or X-Game needs to formalise it's competitive structure (I mean if it looks like a sport ergo, it must be one). There should be no glory or incentive for wallowing in the Open division, as this should really be for scratch or total newbie teams. If you were to triumph at this level this should be as a stepping stone into the formal league structure, and hopefully used as a basis to talk with suppliers re potential "incentivised buying schemes".

Lets be honest, free Paintball doesn't exist outside of EXL, and without an account audit of the teams in the EXL, would imagine the playerz themselves are stumping up a fair wad of cash themselves to play.

The "sport" of Paintball, does reward commitment, as it is a sport where anybody prepared to commit to training can gain a credible competency level. no disrespect to the top level teams, but if you SERIOUSLY wanted to get good, you could ascertain a fair level simply through your own effort. Ok you are unlikely to make the nirvana of the EXL and a 5,000,000 ball p.a. deal etc etc, but what was Am A, shouldn't be an issue (and the better incentivised buying deals).

Also, with the open structure of divisions previously utilised, it could be argued that a small problem of "Sandbagging" and "Ringers" existed. Whether this was a true phenomenon, or purely imagined by the teams that got a can of whoop ass opened up on em, if you incentivise the bottom rungs, that will always be an incentive for some to play down (I mean who wants to serve in Heaven when you can reign in Hell).

And finally as to a governing body. Hmmm lotta politics out there, personally I'd have liked a good proportion of this mantra filled by the EPA, however both time constraints on those setting up the Association, and a small measure of player apathy torpedoed that one. The EPA for at least the Millennium series should work part n parcel with the Millennium Committee to ensure that the needs of the players are met, not just the fiscal desires of the promoters (as they definitely stand to gain from any Paintball success). This is not a criticism of the Committee, as they provide a service, we as the paying customer obviously choose to utilise and money does make the paintballs spineth. It would have been good to have seen EPA Sanctioned events, or a requirement for all Millennium players to be EPA registered (in time maybe). In this way at least a mouthpiece for your comments, questions and queries can exist.

well mmmm?

i would have to agree with that nick but what i will say is that after those two years where will be will be in the predicament of the americans having even more bargaining power and us having to travel to the states to enter tourneys at a top level when the yank teams stop turning up to millenium etc as it not being worth it in there eyes????

i do realise that we will hopefully be getting tv deals eventually but it is of course a time thing so lets see what happens eh?

If the only way out of the bottom div is through promotion then surely this eliminates sandbaggers as they get nothing from it. However i think there should be some sort of prize possibly even at the end of the season for the top few teams in that div as they will not be sandbaggers and will have been probably to all the events just like all the teams in higher divs only they have nothing to show for there money spent but the teams in higher divs will.

If there are no prizes at the end of the season for these teams then there should be none for the second or first div, there should only be prizes for premier and EXL as they are going to be the maintsream not the rest.
