It is sad that Method will not be gracing the european scene this year. It is such a hard decision for them not to play, but the team understands the reality of 2011 and what it brings for everyone. we will of course sponsor the best looking, coolest and boldest team in the UK, the kind of team that are friends as well as players. Method has always supported me and what we do, I will also support them as much as possible this year.

Last year was great fun, this year just has a different tune. To all the players we still love you, you are still laysick and 2011 will be a good one to remember.

Jeff, truly sorry to hear this. But it is the MS's loss, as they seem to be losing teams hand over fist.

Is the number of teams not returning to the MS due to poor VFM, teams burning themselves out or is it just too expensive to play the CPL/SPL for a season?

Perhaps Method can make a trip to the USA this year, maybe to HB or WC.

Looking forward to seeing Method rip it up in 2011.

Sorry to hear that you can't make it boys!!!! it is bloody hard at the moment for anyteam to play allthe big events, its not just a UK Problem its Teams from all over Europe that are having trouble, My Team the London Tigers will struggle this season, but I have already told my guys that they nust not get in debt over playing Paintball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But sorry mate that Method are not playing Millennium this season, but at least your still sticking together which is good.

It looks like 10 years ago, things were'nt that different.

I've had the joy of playing with Method on the SPL field this year and we all loved it, finishing where we did was an incredible success.

Like Robbo said, we DO have the backing and John Payne and all @ Laysick/kartel prime have been incredible. We want to see them do well aswell as they do us.

This decision is focused on sustainably, the future of us both.

The Millennium is a fantastic event, I believe they try their best to provide a premium international event with players budgets in mind, they'd be silly not to. Therefore if more teams end up the same as us, they may have to budget even further, as we all must bear in mind there are massive costs associated to creating these events* that must be covered.

Whatever they do, it will most likely be for the players benefit, I may be wearing rose colored glasses but its business sense to work around your customer than your greedy self.

Method want to be there, but if its going to cripple our personal finances. it makes sense to take a break. As Robbo once said to us during one of his weekend training lectures for Blackpool Inferno 7 years ago ( because they were lectures.! but in a good way ) , " if you could take a year out and don't enter any events and train every weekend, you'd enter that next year much stronger than if you were to be constantly attending events." maybe Method can see it like that.

For now, this is it. Were going to love dedicating ourselves to Uk ball this year, it means we keep playing, the site's get more custom, the attending players to those's sites have more of an incentive to come to those sites and all in all everyone's happy as long as Method promote Laysick and Kartel prime in positive way and they too promote themselves correctly the business and playabillity of paintball will go on.

Now...who wants to play some ball....?

There maybe some people who may doubt my next statement but I have a fair amount of evidence on my side and so ..... you could take a team of able amateurs and novices and within 25 training sessions turn them into a pro team who could contest in the CPL .. problem is, to do this, you need people who value a place in the CPL ... a pro spot has to actually mean something for people to aspire to it and there has been an unquestionable erosion of this in the past few years ... I think a lot of people just don't give a fuhk anymore about the pros .... they may be at the top of our sport but what's the point if nobody respects that position?

Method - when they were So Manc - took a year off a couple of years back and spent it training pretty much every weekend, with some midweek sessions as well. That was the year Tommy joined them.

They came back strong the year after.

Now, if they could pick up a full-time non-playing coach like Robbo or Ledz, and spend a full year training with them, they would probably lay waste to the CPL teams in 2012.

In fact, if any UK team could pick up a coach like that, they would kick ass.

Thanks for the comments guys. Just disagree on what Tommy was saying regarding the Millenium. In my opinion they do the opposite.. They don't listen to the players, they certainly don't offer value for money and they don't have the interest of the players at heart.
As Robbo said we actually have very good sponsorship, I think last year must have cost Jon around 15-20k for our season!! (and that doesn't include Asa's life insurance!

Anyways I was thinking last night about Millenium etc.. And I thought a good replacement could be to have 'opens' like in tennis. So you have say a French open, German open, British open and Russian open where the top league(s) in each country get together and put on a big event once a year. So there's no locked leagues or anything like that, you're just going out to play the German open or whatever. Over here the CPPS and NSPL would organise the British open and likewise with the other European leagues etc.. And unlike the Millenium reasonable pricing would apply as if the French open start charging too much you just wouldn't play that one etc..

I'm probably missing a blindingly obvious point why this wouldn't work but at the moment I can only think organisational reasons..

tbh i think thats a good idea! but would have to be moderated correctly or could end up with diffrent sets of rules for each open but if in principal they followed psp rules then would defo be good!
