I think this just goes to show that although a tough year for paintball that we can still compete at the top and pull off these fantastic results..

Keep up the good work guys, i look forward to the Bitburg results being the same or better.

And as for rumours and scandal:-

1. A girl touched Ryan Greenspan's helmet.
2. Some French guys ate some frogs. So that's basically a frog eating a frog.
3. A guy called Scandal played for Joy Division.

And as for rumours and scandal:-
Hugo and Brandon Short follow in the Dog's D'Armour tradition and are playing Div2 "for fun" (direct quote from Brandon).

FL Charms got 1-4-1 penalty for overshooting aforemetioned B-Short during their game. :D

New format for CPL and SPL, where 2 games are played as alternate points in order to maximise viewing spectacle is mostly not liked by teams (at least the ones I spoke to) but seems to go down fairly well for the crowds - although the field turnaround time seems to be longer between matches as both pits have to be vacated and refilled. A big plus point was that the schedule ran ahead, by as much as an hour at one point so teams didn't have to play in the failing light.

Zack Wake is terrible at holding his beer but makes for a pretty good commentator.

Trade stands were bigger than previous years, and the location was spot on too. Overall a massive improvement on last season so far in my view.

you can say that again!

This is bull**** format, no time at all! not even time to get your pods!
No clock in the pit when the other teams are playing!
So there is no score on the board as well...

Hoop the Millennium put's it straght in Bitburg!

amen!

I spoke with a few people about the new format and some echo'd my personal feelings.

It worked ok in general but you were rushed and some tweaks are needed.

1. It didnt give much time for collecting pods etc. Some games pod collectors were left cowering behind the start gate until the point finished. Also there were a lot of cases of teams taking the pods of the pit sharing partner team in the group of 4.

2. Trying to get in the pits was a nightmare as you had to wait for both teams to get clear so the turn around between games as Jay said seemed longer.

3. On changing ends during the match after the nominated scored points was a nightmare. Most that I spoke with agreed either it needed a full minute for change over or 45 seconds for each point. So many team rushed across the field to touch the start gate with 1 second to go. On CPL I tried to remind teams as much as possible how much time was left as part of the commentary.

4. Perhaps a second timeout period would be useful in the format or splitting the timeout to 2 x 30 seconds?

It's important to air your views and the MS sent out on Monday an email to all teams that had to play this format asking for event feedback. If you have it then reply.

I can see this scheduling sticking around unless a valid argument against it is put forward and that has to be a bit better than its a struggle imho, as the majority of teams coped well with it but were slightly disgruntled.
