Hey people, Thought I would share this video. Some of Mikes views on ramping make sense. Just wanted to see what your thoughts were on this subject as pretty much everyone on here is way more experienced than I am, some perhaps long enough to notice a change in the participation levels in paintball.

Yeah I agree to be honest, my paintfest video kinda prooves this, my friend got shot 6 times when the first one burst and it was only a few Meters distance, my guess would be that If he was a new player he wouldnt have enjoyed his day... There's just no need for ramping as people can't control themselves, which in my opinion has prooved to be true... Semi auto with a double trigger will still be great fun and takes more skill!

Here is another question then

Why do we insist on a cap on ramping at events yet let those silly response triggers race away at whatever bps they want, everyone can hear them all over the field 20+bps and yet nothing is done about them.

Im not sure i agree about ramping killing things...i think that some of the ramp modes make it too easy to do it however...psp mode takes no effort at all, a few years ago at least the mills ramp mode made it a tiny bit harder to maintain the ramp!

i do wonder tho....if it was all semi i can easily shoot 10bps all day long, and dont honestly think it would reduce paint usage in any real quantity....and even if it did surely if we all start using less paint all that will happen is the prices will go up!!

I'm hate ramping with a passion, being a lehargic and somewhat larger player the advantage I had was that I could shoot and maintain a good rate of fire on semi only (not cheating semi either) this was great as my team dominated others purely on laying paint down. Now with ramping I have no advantage in fact my size puts me at a major disadvantage against young whippersnappers who move quicker and now have the same trigger capabilities as myself. A lot of my old team mates quit due to the introducing of ramping, and I long for the semi days again.

Well no essx, what techpb mike is saying is that yes paint usage will decrease for a very very short period, but it will soon be a positive for the paint companies when thousands more players start playing! And you can also look at it in the sense more players are leaving so paint buying is in decline anyway. And in all fairness I think having it on semi will still consume alot of paint when using an airball gun

I agree, At the last walk-on I went to everyone agreed on 10.5bps semi most of us agreed to this, however there where some less experienced players who set there markers to shoot 15bps psp ramping, and you could easily here who was doing it and who wasn't this was in woods as well so it was even more pointless as much of there paint just hit the tree's

However tournaments wil always employ a rof cap so surely there is no real.benefit from ramping to semi!
The only issue is the actual settings of tge ramp....
it comes down to regulations at events or sites being enforced, you cant get away with it in supair having higher rof!
so.we are talking about different situations of paintball....
in my.opinion the thing that is more.likely to put people.of.playing paintball is.sites charging £100+ a box!

In the.video he talks about a growing industry and.player numbers up until a certain point 2004-6...and you have a notion of thousands more players playing....cant see it myself....the market is so flooded now with various companies and.products back then the choice was far more limited so those companies dominated the.market and.therefore.grew at a massive rate!
