guys..just an idea...but might this thread not get more attention in "announcements"?
It does raise a very interesting question tho...there seems to be a lot of teams looking for players and a lot of teams that are struggling to even put 5 players in the field...even on an irregular basis...which kind of supports a theory I have that there's too many tournaments and not enough players, time & money to go around. And I suspect not enough being done by event organisers and the sport in general to attract more blood into the sport....Hmmm I feel a new thread coming on...

The question is, how does any player make the transition from Rec ball to tournament.
I for one thought that paintball was purely something you did on an ad-hoc basis in the woods at the whim of the organiser (Me). I joined the local team site for a couple of tourneys but they were only woodlands to.
It was not until another site I went to mentioned that he was getting a team up that it was all revealed to me. Of course he just strung us along and took all our money with out ever getting to play for him but hey, that's site owners for you.
It is down to the sites to promote the sport to get players to make the transition which is not always in their best interest, I used to take 40 players to this site 3-4 times a year and dont take any now for 2 reasons, too busy with paintball and dont want him to make any more money from me.
