The venue?
Excellent

The marshals?
All but one marshall a credit to paintball (nuff sed)

No 1 field cheap and cheerful looked bad but played OK
Top field got to be field 2 an A for that one :D

not enough of it

its kind of hard to build a full firing range in the middle of a cricket pitch. remember all this stuff has got to be removed when you leave.
another chrono wouldnt have gone amis tho, i grant you.....

Improvements??

I dont think that MM need to improve an awful lot, I think a lot of the pressure needs to be on the players to bring their side of the deal up to scratch, for instance:

1. Ungentlemanly conduct - I love swearing, I think it is big and clever IN THE RIGHT PLACE AND TIME!! There was some horrendous language coming off the field, one particular team playing on field 3 were 'gobs a blazing' right in front of families/kids watchng from outside the marquee. I think this has been covered elsewhere in the past, but I do think that we need to be aware that our actions are witnessed not only by our players, but by the general public also.

2. Safety - No use spending hours erecting netting when some fools are lighting up trees in the camping area, what happened to the balls that missed chaps??? Dry firing sometimes is a requirement in the staging area, but a member of the general public may not know that without a hopper, that marker you are waving in their face is safe. Shooting at spectators out of field 4 (picked up off another thread) is just plain mental.

3. Helping - Now I will hold up my hands and admit that after STR2, we were out of there sharpish after the event, we did have to be somewhere, but I still felt a bit bad about leaving MM/Marchbrook to clear up. This time, I made an effort to help with the aftermath, and was thanked accordingly by Blakey and the gang. I think outside of MM/Marchbrook (Pimps etc) I was one of maybe 2-4 people max who stayed behind to help. Giving an hour of your time after the event would dramatically reduce the workload on the MM staff, and help to make us all feel more involved in the running of the series.

4. Stupidity - The damage to the toilet facitilities was not big, not clever, and did not impress anyone. I do feel that the person responsible should make themselves known to Blakey, and receive whatever punishment (Personally, foot the bill for repair, and make an apology via the boards) they see fit. I would like to think that is was not one the paintball guys, but that is unlikely.

Back to you bob ;)

what else does it need to be for?

There needed to be an area where you could safely test fire your marker. People firing in that area soon realised they could only fire at the floor otherwise they were spraying paint on passers by.
All it takes is 20-30ft shooting lane with a plastic target at the end. You will find that people will use this lane and not fire into the netting thinking it is safe to do so. It's just an additional safety feature, can't be too safe
