and also it will be more expensive for the team to play
ie more paint more fuel to get there
its ok for most teams like us but what about the unfortunate teams who have to scrimp and save every month just to do the one event amonth
and like a said before you will get the teams who only have a 5 man or 6 man squad

5-man or 7-man

This is a discussion thats been going on about the MM ever since the Midlands Masters began in 2001. This is all I'm saying at the moment other than the points in both camps are very valid.

I would assume that this must have been discussed at the meeting to form UKPL as one of the issues to bring standardisation between leagues

As I have said in other posts 7 man is the way to go.

Some teams will need to merge others will be OK as they are.

If you take the MM at Wrexham as an example there were 7 divisions of 8 teams, 56 teams, 5 players per team making 280 players in total.

If it was 7 man that would mean only 40 teams and 5 divisions therefore fewer, larger fields which would, theoretically, take the same room as more, smaller fields

From my point of view 7 man would be great but logistically its up to Bully and Blakey.

More paint? Not really, still around a case per person. Fuel, well there's more to split it between. As for the other logistics, fields do take more preparation. The more barricades there are, the more you have to pay attention to where they're laid out. The types of barricade become important as well, variation is key.

In my opinion, Novice should play 5man and everyone else should make the leap to the obvious global format!

I chose to run the M25 as a 7man event after 2 years of talking to player at all levles from all over the world.

I personnly belive this will help the english teams when they compete.

Yes it has its draw backs ie you need 7 man feilds and they are heavier, more to clean, more expensive to transport, more to set up and need bigger playing areas. Yes ideally you need more marshalls ie we have 8 on the field plus a chronnie marshal. i think ther is still a place for 5man and they are fun don't get me worng but then so to is 10 man. But the future is 7man
