Did you actually see it Gyro?

From speaking to Chris and others that were there I got a similar but different story.

Chris bunkered Wade clean and went past him, wade turned and lit Chris up, Chris turned back and shot him in the face/head 6-7 times.

Wade was still standing but went down shortly after.

The guy that banned Chris from the series had a long running feud with Chris and it was his son? or relative that got lit up.

Chris absolutely shouldn't have shot him, but the guy shouldn't have played on/span either.

I've seen and heard of far worse.

You are absolutely right that Chris can be a very nice guy and an absolute arse depending on what mood you catch him in. :D

Yeah, I was watching that game, but my recollection might be flawed. Like I said, it was a couple of years ago, and it was only one drama circling Chris that month.

My impression was that he shot more than 6-7 balls, but it is hard to tell. I clearly remember Chris standing still for a moment next to him, but from my angle I couldn't say if Wade spun after being shot.

Mike was in charge of the MSTS, and I do not think there was/ is any bad blood there, so if Chris was banned, I don't think there was a personal agenda being served.

Wayne, who wrote the article that was refernced earlier, is the owner of the Yarddogs, Wade's team. If they are family, I didn't know it. That could be what Chris was talking about. He has his share of enemies in Colorado.

In the interest of full disclosure, I am not anti-Lasoya, and not pro-Lasoya either. I always pay a lot of attention when I play him and when he talks, because he is a good player, in addition to anything else.

I think he's already answered that question:

It was yonks ago now anyway, no point getting all tetchy about it. Either way, point reamins that unless there is some totaly unrelated incedent we don't really know about, Chris Lasoya isn't banned from the NPPL.

 Piss off and read what I posted. Many of the people that post about this weren't there and/or haven't talked to those involved. I'm interested in what Gyro has to say as a first hand witness, but in honesty it was a long time ago and so the whole issue isn't so important anymore.

I never said I was there, but I have spoken to Chris about it as well as others who were there and on his team, I think I even discussed why Chris was banned with Ed Poorman. No love lost there now! but I was told a lot of it was political and due to a long running hatred from the guy that banned him (or got him banned), and Chris.

I know Chris has his fair share of enemies in paintball, I think that goes with his rep and high profile.

As Gyro said, it's been a while now. :D It might be that Wade is Wayne's son? Trying to remember, but not sure it's worth it. ;)

just found out this, from Warpig on yesterdays NXL

'The final NXL game of the day was between the Oakland Assassins and Miami Effect. Miami held a single point lead with a score of 6 to 5, when due to weather the game was called to completion with a single half. '

Wow...go Miami, you lucky sods. I wish there was a decent reable online scoreboard. I can hardly read the divisional XBall one, and there isnt an NXL one anywhere to be seen.

It was my tournament and tournament series. I didn't "ban" him and I never had any intention of banning him. Chris shot Wade approx. 6-10 times....They all just so happened to be in the same area of the forehead. What everyone forgets in all of this is that Chris got shot about about 10-12 times in the exchange, but his weren't in the head. Lasoya was never banned from the NPPL, but he was banned from the Pan Am series, I think, like 10 years ago back when it was the GWS but who cares about that. Lasoya plays the game at one speed, and it just so happens that his speed is a lot faster than most of the others that play against him or alongside him. The "Paintball Terrorist" article was written by a person named Guy Cooper who has a personal vendetta towards Lasoya, so the article is a bit skewed in it's integrity.
