max flo vs preset

hey guys, just wondering what people use, im looking to buy a new ion setup, and am thinking about going for the preset cause its lighter (me being a front player) but i have heard that its not as constant as maxflo and can drop balls sometimes. At the mo im leaning towards preset because its over a 100 squids cheaper, anyone give me any advice?

crossfire presets - very consistent - never had drop off issues even at very high ROF's (25bps +) - never heard anyone say they've had drop off issues - i swapped my max flo in-lines for them and much prefer them

sounds good, i was gonna get an ion in a package deal with a preset, but im guessing thats just a bog standard one, u reckon there will be much difference?

ion with barrel, battery, condom, tools, spares, 48cubic inch 3000 psi pure energy system and a vl loader for 300squids, sounds alrite. What do you know about the pure energy system?

What's the VL loader? the VL200?

Just my two pennorth mate, I'd go with the cheapest new Ion you can and use the rest of the money (say, £110ish) to buy a 4500 1.1 (68) on these forums

Until you fit the QEV mod you're going to be MUNCHING gas and a 3000 48psi preset will give:

1100 shots from a 68 4500 (ish, without QEV)
*70.5% for 48 cu = 775 shots
*66% for 3000 psi = 515 shots

= not too much, where as with the 2nd hand 1.1 4500 you're gonna get about double that.

Ions come with spares, tools, condom and battery anyway. Unless you're getting a decent hopper, I really wouldn't

Just my opinion though - and fit a QEV! They only cost £8 - and make a hell of a difference

I would stand ny what Bulldog has said. Get a second hand 1.1 4500 psi air system and a cheap second hand ion off te boards. There are loads of ions for sale and they all seem pretty good value.

hmm interesting points. The loader dosen't really matter as i have a vl already which does the job. Does the QEV fit onto the airsystem or the ion? It may be worth getting a new ion for the warranty, but il keep a look around the boards for whole setups. Yeh second hand does seem a good idea instead of that deal now. So if anyones selling pm me!
