Not exactly a maths problem, as no type of calculation was required, mor a lateral thinking exercise!

When building a house, You need two walls to be perpendicular to each other. Length of one wall is 7 meters, and another 8 meters. How to check, is the angle right, when You have only 5 meter knot patterned rope, with 1 meter spacing and a 20cm long pencil?
345 Rule, take the knotted rope and measure 3 metres on one wall, mark it with the pencil, then measure and mark 4 metres on the other wall, the distance between the two marks will be 5 metres if the angle is 90° the size of the pencil is irrelevant!
