Ive marshelled and if its a delta force site( puking my guts up just for writting the name) you need to be in the game where you can see every thing going on not laying down cause the players will be shouting for you, i normaly stand with my spare gun covering my nuts, get used to being shoot on a game day even if it is semi pro stray balls do accure every now and then. if you can stand behind a barakade even better, working on a site is hard and fun specialy when some one gets shot in the nuts just watch them go down, always keep a squeegy with you can solve 99% of problems on a inferno. any thing else you want to know just will try and answer.

As chuckwood has said the main thing is to make sure the punters are having a good time coz that way they will buy more balls and thats where the money comes from. It is a pretty laid down rule that you are probably gonna get shot every day so dont get mad if it happens, 99% it will of been an accident and the player wont of even realised they did it. Having more marshalls on a field helps so you could have a marshall at each start point with each team keeping an eye on them and 1 or 2 already out on the field watching and waiting. Where I marshalol the fields are small enough to start at each end then scamper to the side lines and watch you team (the opposing marshall standing on the other side line). Keep an eye on everyone though, if you can see 2 opposing people and you are in a line with them you could be hit, and learn you field so you know where there is a place where you can seek cover etc. There is no real definitave way to do it as every field is different but experiment and eventually you will find the way that works for you and your field.

I did a stretch at delta force. The best advice I can give you it to wear plenty of padding and make yourself a shield. I used to marshal wearing my stuff I used for tourneys - elbow and forearm pads, slide shorts, cup and knee/shin pads. If you add something like the old JT body armour you're laughing (I didn't wear this - I didn't really mind the welts too much). Get a nice thick beanie on your bonce and try to get something wrapped around your neck. The cup is THE most important thing here - nothing hurts more than a shot to the nutsack.

If you want to make a shield you just need a big bit of clear polycarbonate sheeting with the edges sanded off so they aren't sharp. Drill four holes in it and use them to bolt on two chunky bits of nylon to use as handles. Add stickers if you want it to look extra pimp.
