On the subject of patents

....... watched a program a few weeks back "what's the big idea" where inventors pitch their inventions to industry big shots. A girl came on with an anti sleep seat belt for drivers......superb idea. the expert (from a motor safety manufacturer) said...."we'll do it" she was exstatic - this meant she had patent worth thousands at 16, and the backing of a major manufacturer (they expected it to be a worldwide success). Then the patent expert said "oh wait, was this a G.C.S.E project?" "yes" she says "Oh I'm sorry, that makes the invention public property"................superb, the look on her face was priceless. You can pause at the exact spot that her hopes and dreams turn to $#!+

heh, I though my plans were big, possiblity of getting companies to do a useful serial number! the idea of a marker imbiliser(sp) is not a bad on but one which is already out there in a form, I have the angel IR3 config prog on my PDA, this will allow you to enter a PIN, now not owning a angel I'm not 100% sure but I believe it does this kind of thing.

Don't hold me to it though.

PS the police in america looked into this kind of thing a few years ago ( 1999 I think) and found that it was incredably expensive, so it could be designed ( its just a basic switch it a unique way of "turning" it,) but will prob add a LOT to your Shocker E-Blade, Angel etc.
