Rough Guide to Manchester

I would divide the city centre up into the following areas in terms of a night out:-

1. Northern Quarter

Formerly the centre of the rag trade, now home to designer flats, niche businesses, pleasant bars and good places to eat.

2. The Gay Village

Does what it says on the tin. Go there if you want to avoid chavs.

3. Piccadilly Gardens

Go there if want to meet chavs.

4. Chinatown

Nice restaurants, strip clubs and Triads.

5. Castlefield & Deansgate Locks

Frequented by girls who would like to be WAGs.

6. The "Other" end of Deansgate (near Selfridges)

See 5.

7. The Printworks

Dead by day, overrun at night. Drink, eat, see a film.

8. Oxford Road

Studenty. Go there if you would like to meet girls who don't keep their brains in their handbags.

9. Rusholme

Curry Heaven.

Unfortunately, The Hacienda has now been turned into a block of ovepriced flats, much like every other piece of available real estate in the city centre.

So, beginning at Victoria Station, I would plot the following courses across the city:-

Course 1

Start at the Printworks, then take the short walk up into the Northern Quarter. Cut quickly across Piccadilly into Chinatown.

Course 2

Head along Deansgate, through Castlefield and on to Deansgate Locks.

Course 3

Get the free bus to Oxford Road, work your way along there and end up in Rusholme.

Dress Code:

Shirt, smart jeans and shoes will get you in anywhere. Avoid sportswear and trainers. Go to Primark on Market Street (open late each night) and they will kit you out in all of this for around £30.

If you need a tour guide, call me. I also know some very hot, but intelligent, ladies.

Northern quarter - bluu bar + loads of others, mint lounge as an end up......chilled out, relaxed and a cool crowd. We used to start in Deansgate Locks (Loaf, revolution & Atlas bar) then move up to NQ later on.

Bluu is probably the most aids place in all of Northern Quarter

I can think of about 5 places more worthy of visiting.
