Macroline constantly bursting!

I have some macroline running between my bottle and my reg and whenever I turn on the valve to let the Co2 in my macroline bursts .

Thus I have a couple of questions :

1. Why is my hose breaking ? It is low pressure hose but the guy i bought the gun ( a 2nd gen. shocker ) from always used macroline and he never had these problems , he reckons macroline is the way to go with shockers. Am I turning the valve on too much ? Can you do that ? Are you only meant to do a quarter turn on Smart valves ?
I am down to my last length of hose so instead of messing it up I decided to ask you guys

2. Also , what is the easiest way to get the burst hose out of the 2 ends ? Just pull it ? I think that's what the guy did last time , but I wanted to know if it helps if you squeeze it or twist it ?

New to these forums are hope you guys can help because this problem kinda sucks :D . I hope it's a matter of me being a retard and turning the valve on too much

Thanks in advance for the help , any comments are welcome

I've not used CO2 in ages, so I'm not sure what pressure you'll have coming from your tank - but the speed you open the valve shouldn't make a difference.

Most macro isn't really designed for the use we put it to - the stuff I use only has a recommended working pressure of 500PSI and I put 800 through it.......although the burst pressure should be a lot higher than that.

A lot depends on what brand macro you've got - there's a HUGE difference in quality between the various brands. Theres loads of posts on automags.org about the 32 degrees stuff being awful, while Parker Parflex has an excellent reputation.

If you're in the UK and anywhere near Dartford Tunnel, I've got some spare Parker I could let you have for free.

Removing it (when there's no pressure in the line) should be as easy as pushing it into the fitting, holding the movable collar backwards and then pulling outwards.

Ok, the output pressure for a standard Co2 tank is around 800-850 psi it won't make a differance how much you turn the valve.
It shouldn't be bursting though and I don't recall ever hearing of 'low pressure' macro line.
The best way to get the ends out is to take an 8mm open end spanner, push the inner colar towards the fitting then pull the hose. :)
If I was you I'd got on the phone to Smart Parts, end order some more macroline. Whilst you're on yu can explain whats happening.

thanks for the replies guys , in fact i was at smart parts yesterday and they put the macro line on so surely that shouldn't happen . I guess I'm going to have to call them up now , i just wondered if I was doing something wrong because the hose has burst twice now. Surely the hose they gave me should be able to stand the maximum pressure the tank could give out anyway ?

macroline pressures

There are different types of macrolines, they vary from 200 psi max, to 8000, yes 8000 psi max. Do you have a reg between the bottle and the macroline, and if so is it set way to high.
A year ago i tested the different types of low to mid pressure macroline hoses, the difference is alarming. I have hose that you can squeeze flat that can only be used on a low pressure set up like a impulse or early shocker. This hose will burst if used above 300 psi, and then there's the same looking hose that will take up to 800 psi, this won't squeeze flat, good for angels and other guns working of a primary reg. But i wouldn't recommend using macroline straight from the co2 bottle without a reg.
If you have a reg before the hose check the pressure going into the hose with a guage, you might find that something is not fitted correctly in the reg and its not working.
As far as taking out hose that has burst, get a pair of medium pliers, grip the hose with the pliers as close to the fitting as possible pressing on the fitting as you grip the hose, and carefully lever the hose out of the fitting. It will come out without damaging the fiiting, and its only this tight because of the over pressuring it has had. GOOD LUCK.

macroline pressures

Sorry i've just re read your original post, the macroline hose used between the bottle and the reg is not a standard type. There are hoses that will take this pressure, but not commonly available.
