Cor, my girlfriend's just called to say that it turned up today. So, ordered Monday night, arrived Friday morning. Half way around the world. Not bad, eh? I'll give it a work out next weekend, then at the next M25, and post my findings :)

thats pretty good mate but dont forget if it does need replacing for what ever reason it means you have to send it all the way back again..

Im after a look at one of these and if australia is the only place i can get 1 i think i will give it a miss.

Did 6e give you any explanation as to why they took so long maybe they where out of stock?

True enough, but you have to be pretty unlucky for something to be wrong enough to require the whole thing being sent back... I ordered some spares at the same time, which should fix 99% of problems. It would be preferable to deal with a UK supplier for the reason you point out, but MacDev's direct service has been so good in my experience that I don't lose sleep over it.

They hadn't received any 03 Conquests and weren't sure of a price when I managed spoke to them, but they promised to phone back. 3 unreturned phone calls later, I gave in and boughtit direct. I think the reason 6e hadn't had a shipment was probably due to the bottle issue - the CE standard was just coming in at the time, and presumably MacDev wanted to find a good supplier of CE bottles to ship to the UK pre-fitted to the regs.

BTW - Rabies, just one more quick question - what did you do about the DOT bottle? As far as I understand it they are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard in the UK?

I've dropped 6e a call but they aren't sure about stock etc at the moment and are going to call me back (hope they fare better with me in the calling back department than with you!) and I'm also considering ordering direct...

Posted it in the BST forum on pbnation.com for $120 and some bloke bought it within 4 hours. Sorted :D Although it would be preferable to buy the reg with either a CE bottle or no bottle at all. However MacDev insisted they could not sell the reg on its own for safety reasons (amusing, since the two halves unscrewed without the need for tools when I received it.)

Right, cheers, I'd emailed Mac Dev to see if they could sell without the bottle but I've not had a reply yet...

May just order it and sell the bottle on seperately... impatience always seems to get the better of me ;)

Thanks for your feedback.

When I asked they wouldn't sell it without a bottle but they did tell me they would be making it available in the UK by the end of september with a new CE certified bottle.

Bought an Air reg in the meantime...

I just had this reply back from Mac Dev, think I'll hang on a few weeks...

"...Due to these DOT/HSE/PI problems, we will soon be offering PI bottles (for
most of europe) and regs by themselves as well. However this service will
not be available for a few weeks. Can you use PI bottles (like in France)?
The reg by itself will be $230 and shipping to the UK is about $25..."
