Whinge, whinge, whinge, moan, moan, moan....
Hmmm, the supposed People's Mod doesn't know what Sandbagging is??? Good way to represent your constituents.
Anyway, I may have made an exceptionally longwinded attempt at "Sandbaggers, You SUCK", I shall try harder to be more blunt next time. I'm not whining, just voicing an opinion.
Anyway, back to the baggers,
You know what makes me laugh, MLT is often used as some peoples personal chat room; it ain't it's for all users who attend "Major's" (Rookie to Pro), I would have thought the recent influx of new posters here to be indicative of peoples thoughts on teams who are year in year out playing down. I mean these non-"pro's" are the ones who are paying virtually full retail for their guns and bullets, would be nice to know that their opinion might count for something; especially when "Face" or "sponsored" (I use the term loosely), decide to bash them up. I never realised alienating potential customers was now an "in-vogue" marketing tool. you'd actually be surprised how many teams are essential known as "Team Dick" by their peers, and by extension or guilt by association possibly their sponsors.
If the series organisers want to see growth and development of Tournament Paintball, then Div3 should be Rookie only. It always used to be, that saying this is an annual argument. I suppose in reality the Teams playing down are only cheating themselves, as there simply "propagating" they're no-game loserness. Perhaps sponsors may start to realise this and jettison teams, or maybe the Rookies just decide to boycott certain games.......
Maybe I missed something in paintball fashion, is it now "AGG" to get novelty results??? Somewhat cool for a team to get a negative position in the Division they should've been in? "Wahey we're Team Dick and we finished -8 in Div2 this year, give us more free sh*t". Or another of my favourites "ohhhhh we played sh*t all year, we don't deserve to be in Div2", cut the crap, most teams were entered halfway through the season, did you throw the rest of your tournaments to justify your Campaign Division?.
If I sound angry, it's because I am. I've seen genuine Rookie teams train and play hard all season for their first Major, and now it looks as though it's being made as difficult as possible. I've no doubt they are in fact better than some of the names being banded about, but even a small piece of tin would represent something for a years efforts.
Col, I'd be more than happy to continue this over a few cold ones at the bar, I'm suffering from alcohol withdrawal at the moment, hence my tetchy comments.
