I would hope it would end with manufacturers giving us regulators with appropreate certification. We dont accept the use of DOT or TC tanks but seem more than happy to use any regulator, the regulator is the vital saftey component in any paintball air system.
I have had a scan through some PED specifications, it appears that hoses and conections are classed differently so no, I doubt it will end with PI marked macro line etc.
It would end with paintball guns needing every component that holds pressure to be certified.
Which would mean markers cost twice as much and there would be no such thing as aftermarket upgrades.
Interestingly a lot of people are even now using macroline thats not rated to their working pressure. People have been seriously injured by inadequate macro fittings.
But its mainly made for other industries so we just have to be vigilant.
Its the same with firemode legality.
Right now there is no law on whats legal. If there was, what we call semi auto wouldnt be classed as semi auto and probably wouldnt be legal.
Trying to clarify the facts is not always a good idea.
Its not always possible to legislate against bad luck. Or poor judgement.
