I look back on my paintball career, and what have I achieved?

Not a great deal. I've played a little, done some reffing. I've been lucky enough to have travelled a lot because of paintball, and I have made some lasting friendships, and it is those I value the most.

I have wasted a lot of opportunities, and realise that my time is almost over as I am not a young man any more. However, I can still achieve something worthwhile.

I've become involved with a site that is stopping kids from just hanging about the street by introducing them to paintball, with a view to forming a tournament team from the best of them.

There is one kid amongst them who could be the next Oliver Lang. He is 15.

Now, I don't have the ability to train them to be great players, as there are others more skilled than me that can do that.

Since they have hardly any money, I can get them markers and unifiorms.

So, with a view to this, I will be selling part of my marker and jersey collection to finance this, and will be posting up seperately with the sale.

I will be looking for Ego 5's and Planet pants (07 desgin preferred).

I need 4 Ego 5's and 3 pairs of pants, as I have already bought 1 of the guns and 2 pairs of pants (it's a 5 man team).

So. let me know if you have an Ego 5 for sale or can point me in the direction of one.

I have already posted up in "Wanted" with minimal response, hence the reason for this post.

Mods, feel free to move this if this is in the wrong place.

If you want any help or just to chew the fat with regards working with hard to reach young people, do drop me a line as it's something I do every day of the week in my job as a youth development worker.

Good luck, always wanted to do something like this as well but the long term costs of paint and entry have always been prohibative.

Thank you all for your support and generosity.

This is the kind of thing that makes paintball a brotherhood.

Yo Jonathan, give me a holla if you need anything we've got loads of spare stuff and if you get them down to NQ or Justins we'd obviously help them out with training etc..

Can I ask what the team name is, im curious :p

Its a really fab nice thing your doing here.

Do you think that this is helping them go onto the straight and narrow with their lives like looking for jobs, wanting to better themselves by taking up sports etc etc.?
(Friendly question, please don't hurt me.)

Again, thanks for the offers of support.

Can I please ask that all replies and questions are kept on thread instead of via PM.

The team does not have a name yet, as the squad is being still being picked, but for what it is worth I think it should be something relating to their home town.

An offer of paint support has been thrown in, so we will see if that comes off.

To Jeff and Markie - thanks, and if you could bring your squads to their site and train with them using reballs that would be great.

As to whether this will have a lasting effect on their lives, we'll see - because tournament paintball requires a lot of commitment.
