LCD Problem

Hi guys just bought a 2k2 lcd, I can not get the gun to turn on properly, using the car charger and the ignition on i inserted the plug into the angel, plugged into the car, the screen lit up where all the digits and parts of the screen showed, then a thing saying put ... some number displayed then, however If i hold on the trigger and press either the middle or bottom button in, spaces come up to enter some codes and when i press the bottom button i can choose numbers to ented, there is one long number and a four digit number, i remember someone said in Lepigs thread these could be start up codes?does anyone know what im trying to explain here?or know what codes i should enter? cheers p.s the screen lights when i pull the trigger while the charger is inserted, but the gun goes dead a couple of seconds after i disconnect it Please help, cheers

First, did you get a manual with it, if so look at page 15 and 16 to see if their is a pin number written in the bottom of the page.

After you turn it on and the screen test is over does it go to safe or pin. If it does neither leave it on charge for 5 mins, then disconnect the charger, turn it off and back on again. It should go to safe then.

If it goes to safe give it a good charge, before you go any further.

If it goes to pin, you need to enter the pin number which the previous owner should have given you.

no manual, ad i bont think the previous owner will know the pin number.

when i turn it on it doesnt go to safe or pin just to a screen where it says "put 4" i think its 4 but its in the car at the moment.

i left it on charge but i dont think it is charging, when i take the charger out it stays on for a few secs then turns off

aarrgh is it dead?

Toma, just bin to the car to have a look, it doesnt say "put 4" i dont no why i thought it said that lol, it says "tab in" and where mode is it says mode 6. Flicked the swith on and off it wont turn on at all after being disconnected from the car, i do remember in one of the many times i replugged the charger in it said safe for a split second. is there a resest button or anything?cheers mate

sounds to me like it needs the pin putting in, i also get the feeling it wont charge till you have put in the pin no

Tab in means it's not switched on. I think you need to give it a good charge before you will get any joy. Try charging it for a good hour before going any further.

EDIT == Before you put the charger in turn the switch on, to the left as you look at it, then plug the charger in and leave it charge for a good hour. With a bit of luck it will be ok then.

Often the batteries are a bit ropey and don't hold a good charge, but it should still charge ok.

toma will go do that, but it had been in the car for over 2 hours, and it still wont turn on, although i did flick the switch after it was plugged in, will let u know what happens...cheers guys...dj i would put it in but dont know what it is?dunno if it is printed on the board or somethin anywhere?

Does the light on the charger plug come on as you put it in the car socket, some car sockets are dead until the ignition is on. This light needs to be on to charge the lcd.

Toma, yes the charger seems to be fine;

Right, the switch oon the gun was to the left in the on position, plugged into the car and the screen lit up, pressed a few buttons and said the tab in thing again, pressed soe others and said enter pin if i remember correctly, discoonected, switched gun off back on and screen lit up so plugged in again to charge, as it stands the creen is lit up but there is no writing on it at all apart from the battery bar which stays there all the time as it is printed on the screen and the mode writing too, the battery is not indicating it is being charged though, the screen is just staying lit up.

It looks like it's charging, on some lcd's the battery bar remains stesdy, on others it ramps up and down to show its charging. One question what position is the switch in now, left or right.
