As far as I know, when I spoke to my mole, yes, the red ones are the upgrade ones, they put them in the G7 proto and will be in Fly's and Speed's from next year. The blue ones have the extra x-ray spectrum and can see through ANYTHING (allegedly) and will be in the G7 only by default.

They can be bought as an upgrade though, retail is £45.
