I walked through tonbridge wells with a high power hunting rifle in a case slung over my shoulder.
Not a single person question me.
Mind you, it was tonbridge wells
No...it was
Royal Tunbridge Wells.
Chris Potter Guns is there as well, so they quite often see peeps, walking around, gunslips aplenty.
Dude, threadstarter bloke.
All you need to think about, is common sense:
Firstly, you are allowed (assuming you are over 14) to use your paintball gun, in your back garden or any other private place, where you have a right to be and the public DO NOT have free access to, or even if they have to pay to get in there.
It's also an offence, if nay projectile, leaves the boundaries of said property.
Secondly,
"...it is an offence to discharge any firearm, within 50 Feet of the centre of a Public Highway..."...that includes if there is a fence in the way...so, if your back garden backs onto a road etc, and its less tahn 50 feet to the centre of it, you cant shoot there.
So...if you do use your gun in your garden...common sense dictates, that firstly that you do not make a nuisance of your self..dont do it very late at night or early in the day. Noise abatement regulations, mean that you could find yourself getting attention from the local Council, after they get complaints from your neighbours.
So it may be a good idea, to mention to your neighbours, that you intend to test fire your marker in your back garden from time to time and would they mind? If they don't know what you are talking about, offer to show them what it is, what it sounds like and what it shoots.
Have a back stop, that makes the sound of paint hitting it, quieter (not a tin bucket!)...try and actually fire the gun, from inside your house or garage or other music type, to lessen the noise that gets outside.
Transporting your gun, another good one.
Again, common sense.
If you carry a marker, with filled loader on top, and an airsytem on it, down teh street, your fcuked and so you should be.
If you put said assembly in a bag...well...thats a fine line, because its loaded and that is an offence...you don't need it loaded.
If you take off the air system, empty the hopper, remove the hopper, and put it in a back pack or other luggage...who is to know you have it?
If a copper finds you with it, its not assembled and you should have a reason for having it (your going somewhere with it), so all should be well, as long as you arent breaking any other laws, with regards to your age and its possesion.
Its all a few laws and some common sense.
Remember though...in a public place, it only takes someone to feel threatened, for you to be potentially commiting an offence...ensure they dont see it.
If you are travelling with your kit and its in a bag...you want to buy a magazine at the train station or maybe a bag of Tootie Frooties (and why not), you plonk your bag on teh counter, fetch out your change purse (all good boys carry a change purse, right Millhouse?)...and the poor chap or chappess behind the counter, finds himself staring down teh barrel of a large bore firearm...
Perfectly innocent, perfectly within the law...but...for the small error, of allowing Joe Public, to see your kit.
So, keep your change purse in your handbag, Millhouse..or make sure your kit is well covered
Beaker...you can print that in next months PGI if you like!
