I know the first thing I'm going to hear is: "Go try both and see which you like better, fool!" But the problem is I have do not have access to both. I have always loved the Autococker I currently own, but it is not nearly in the same league as these two guns. I've narrowed it down to these two just from the research I've done. It seems to me that the Karni is a much better deal because out of the box it supposedly is awesome and also has the Kaner barrel kit. On the Timmy I assume I'd end up having to at least get a new barrel (system probably), and possibly a new reg even. I've read that some of the first ones weren't very consistant, but that may have changed by now. Also, the Timmy is a bit more to start with anyway. Does anybody know how much the Karni weighs though? I know it is supposed to be very light. I know the Alias is like a whopping 1.4 lbs, and I'm not sure if that may be too light (is that possible?).

Has anybody tried both of these? What are the strengths/weaknesses of both? And if one person gives me that crap about Autocockers always messing up you better have a good reason to back that up because I've never had a single problem with my 2000 'Cocker - that's right, year 2000...

Thanks in advance...

They're both great guns.
At first I was a little put off by the weird angle of the Karni's reg, but is actually really comfy. I still think it's a butt ugly gat, but they are really good at what they are supposed to do, which is shoot lots of paint.
Now, the Karni has all of the Cockers inherent qualities, ie consistency which leads to that fabled accuracy thing, and with the Eblade on there, it can chuck a lot of paint....BUT, it doesn't shoot as fast as the Timmy does. If you want to hurl a shedload of paint in as little time as possible without getting any extras for your gun, the Timmy is the way to go. Out of the box the Karni is not as fast as a Timmy, the only Cocker to put up those kinda numbers is the Nexus one as far as I know.

So in the end it is up to you. Personally I have been a Timmy lover since I shot my first one.

Well, both the Nexus cocker and the karni have some sort of exhaust gas release valve from the ram (I can't remember which is which, but one company's are called TRVs and the other is QEVs or something like that), which lets the gun cycle faster. I've read that the Karni can hit like 22-25bps, but the truth is I know I'll never shoot that fast.

I want a precise gun that can lay some very fast strings when necessary, but I'm predominately a front/mid player so obviously I don't spray as much paint as a back player would. Also, right now I'm just getting back into the game after a couple years off. I am not a tournament player right now. I'm not saying I never will be though. The other day when I played for the first time after that break, there were a couple teams there - probably novice, I'm not really sure. Then there were just a bunch of others. I think I was playing way over the "bunch of others" but I just wasn't playing quite as tight as the team people - I guess it will take me a bit of time to get back into the game.

I just wanted you to know my situation, but also know that I'm not just some newb wanting a gun that will shoot hella fast while I hide in the back of the field :D .

Personally I'd go for the Karni.

They look awesome (the anno is so damn sweet), the Kaner kit adds great value, they are comfy to hold cos of the great ASA, they are light as heck, as fast as you'll ever need, the trigger is so much sweeter than the Alias and of course it's a cocker with great build quality that both mows and shoots straight.

If you want to stick with the cockers, I would go with the Nexus cocker since it already has the nexus internals and the whole nine yards for the upgrades. I dont know about weight compared to an alias though. But my friend has an alias and the thing feels lighter than my strange shocker.
