Being a complete newbie here but is the dead mans walk when you pretend to be dead and therefore gain ground by simply walking upfield, as someone did that to me recently and i have no idea what was goin on.

In theory yes, but every now & again you can get away with it. Part of the secret is timing, and clever body language.

Well yes...and its one of the reasons people continue to get hit when they are out and then everyone gets arsey and goes home grumpy. well...you know what I mean. If you're hands in the air you're out. If its not, you're pretty much asking for it as people will assume youre doing a dead mans walk.

Didn't the Millennium Rules introduce something to stop it? Or am I just making that up? Anyone?

In answer to my own question, I think 10.27 is what I was thinking of. It doesn actually forbid it...just forbids the more extreme examples like putting a barrel bung in or walking with other eliminated players
