Has anyone played on the new JT Scramball field. Details from the Sup'airball web site a below. It sounds a novel concept. What do you lot think?

"JT USA recently launched a new game : scramball.
Scramball is delivered ready for use, with nine tubeless obstacles, chargers, and transport bag. This is a devilish concept, as the obstacles were created to be easily moved on the field. Here is the idea : a giant screen separates the field in two. You have one minute to place the obstacles as you wish, the screen is then pulled. You are about to discover your opponent's field... "

you would soon have to think about how he other team is going to play.

if you wanted to be super aggressive you could put all your bunkers up by the screen and all bomb it up there when u break out...............or super defensive and buile a back line with no secondary move bunkers, this meants the otehr team would have to shoot all of the team out or risk a very long run with no cover.

its a good idea but would need some rules work, like the number of bunkers allowed to be place at the front or back, i wouldnt like to play o a feild where we hav a normal side and the other team had just a back row with no-mans land in the middle.

it's been dead sunny thins hols...........cool.............peace

It isn't that new, JT did it at the World Cup in Florida 2 years ago? might even have been 3 years ago, it was played on but mainly by people who weren't playing in the team event, to watch it was funny 'cos a lot of the time both teams mirrored their opponents field, there were rules but it all seemed a little chaotic. not a format to place within a tournament but then I doubt that is the market they are looking for.

Is it just me or does that sounds extremely random to anyone??! :D

The idea sounds awesome!! I can just see Robbo though, sitting down with a wee piece o paper and pencil scribbling down all sorts of mathematical theorums to find the the winning bunker formula that will tell you exactly where to place each bunker dependent on x, y and z - being the no. of bunkers, weather conditions, type of bunkers, size of field, no. of men - to give you the field with the most perfect angles every time!!

(I heard he was pretty good at Math :p )

It would be awesome fun to just play it at practices and stuff. That kind of game would help you to get a feel for what kind of angles suit you in particular and strategies to execute on unfarmiliar (it don't look right?) fields etc.

cool idea - anyone know of any sites that use them on a regular basis??

It was pretty crappy actually.

As Mark said they did it at the Cup in 2000, lots of people were using it just to play some ball and get some practice in as there were no spare fields.

But to be honest it was a bit of a joke. I don't see it lasting, there is a lot more luck to it rather than skill. It's who is lucky with their bunker placements in comparison to the oppositions. A bit like paper, scissors and stone.

I prefer fixed bunkers :)
