Dude, Just cause tey had red masks does not mean they are gonna lose. In the winter you can usually see everybody anyway. Getting a red mask won't make you suck.
fans are a great advantage if you wear glasses as its these that are liable to fog up. The other advantage is that if the seal gives on your thermal lens you can rip out the inside section (this does not affect the integrity of the lens) and they still won't steam up.

I'm not sure how it would work out for you since you're in the UK and ll but Actionvillage.com has The proteus goggels in Black with no fan for $40, Damn good deal I say and the mask looks pretty good once you take of the bubble visor ...
