It is very simple. If you want money, you will have to get up and physically do something.

at 13 you aren't physically strong enough for building site work, and even if you are your bones are still growing, so you could do damage to your long term well being.

Like I said before, go and ask your neighbours if they want

cars washed
grass cut
windows washed
fences painted
dogs walked

household stuff is good. cash in hand, lots of little jobs. I pay the window cleaner £5 a time. saves me the bother. if one of our local 13 year olds landed at the door offering to wash the car I would pay him to do it. one of those things i don't have time for.

make sure if you are going to do it, you have your own sponge and bucket and cleaning solution. they will be happy to provide you with the water so you don't even have to lug that from house to house.

good on you for realising you have an effort to make.

sorry if someones already suggested this (got board after reading about 10 rent boy job suggestions) next time you see a neighbor or somebody near you doing building work, ask for a laboring(sp) position carrying bricks etc...
its what i used to do to earn money. worst they can do is say no.

At your age a paer round is definetly your best bet for a steady income and at the same time it will keep you fit to play ball which is a plus. If none of your local paper shops need a paper boy just do what I did,ask all your friends neighbours etc. to switch paper shop on the same day and then just turn up to the shop theve switched to and ask to deliver all those extra papers they have to deliver. It works like a charm trust me.

But for other jobs don't consider anything impossible I believe the only laws stopping you from working are ones that limit how many hours you can work (set number a week but no more than 2 hours on a schoolday and 4 on a holiday or weekend) so basically try everywhere you can think of and hopefully you will strike lucky.

The minimum standard work age to be paid lawfully is 14, there are some circumstances where you can start at 13, paperboy being 1.

You can only work 2 hours per day during the week, with only 1 hour being allowed before work.

you cant work longer than 5 hours on a Saturday and 2 on a Sunday under the age of 15 and no more than 25 hours a week under 15 35 over.

I do employ a 15 year old, so I had to find this crap out and it’s a pain in the arse but I do pay him not too bad so he can’t complain.

Look guys for all of you who keep putting laborer for a building company no offence but are you guys stupid. The building industry has more accidents than any other field in the country. They are very dangerous and no 13 year old kid should ever work near one. Not only that as Nige said your body is still growing and your bones haven’t formed properly, lifting heavy objects is no good for your body what so ever.

Young sir, I do commend you on trying to find a job you seem a lot more switched on at 13 than half the people who have worked with or for me that are 18+ but unfortunately with the age you are, you are restricted to what you can do.

Paper round and all the things Nige said, washing cars, windows, painting fences etc.

I do hope you the best in finding a job if you keep looking you will find one sooner or later.

in ma house surprisingly
Welli'm only 14 m8 hence the stuart14 part but onve you are 14 ul find it easier to get a job as you'll have slightly more options open then when you are 13 i mean dishwash in a cafe but it is decent enough pay. That is what funds me to paintball mainly as i earn between 60-80 quid a week if your birthday is soon try asking the manager of a cafe or restaurant if you can get a job as a dishwasher soemtime soon , after all thats what i done so i can play every week. But until then the other guys are right car wash, dog walking, paper run whatever you can basically just to get a bit more money

I worked at the local watering hole (Pub, for the less common folk) from 13 years of age, the hours were dead flexible so i could earn anything from £9-£45ish a week... and at 13, i didn't need anything more.

The pub i worked at was relatively small, i have friends that are now 16/17, working at larger pubs/restaurants. some have a monthly paycheck of £150ish (pot washing) to £300+! waitressing etc

certainly worth a look, most landlords and pub owners are jolly nice folk, and will help you the best they can.
