I emailed ITV , For you Americans its the Largest Telvision borardcasting networks in the UK.. i emailed them explaining how i think Paintballing would defently increase in numbers if it had media coverage, i explained how well its done in America, but all i got back was the following Response..
Read the email and let me know what you think we could do to get paintballing more known in UK

Dutyoffice@itv.com
Thank you for your enquiry. As the UK’s largest commercial network we broadcast a mix of entertainment, factual, drama, news and sport on our channels. As we are not a dedicated sports network we have to broadcast sports that have proven mass audience appeal – such as football, Formula 1 and boxing. Unfortunately we simply do not have the airtime to cover all sports and interests, even though some such as paintballing have high participation in the UK and abroad.

its been done many a time before on bravo, channel 5 etc

although it isnt tournament paintball

the reason for this is because no one will watch it other than paintballers!
unless the game has a focus point i.e football has its ball etc and a clear way of showing who is winning it will never make prime time.

i mean look how dull snooker is... not body rippingly amazingly athletic is it??

nope... but the reason people watch it is because it has a focus point... the balls, the pockets and the visable skills needed

99% of regular joe bloggs who speak to me ask if the reason i am better is because i can aim better. they dont see the other skills involved

i truly commend you for trying, but it needs to be everyone or no one otherwise you are just a small statistic of people who want to see their hobby on tv!

in any case... you should have targetted channel 5! as they show a lot more variety especially at late night, i.e baseball, basketball, poker, x games

just waiting for mario's call on this one as well! lol!

If you have a birds eye view of the field, and you see one team with 5 players and the other with 2, it doesnt take einstein to work out who's winning.

Just like you say footie has a ball and a goal, snooker has balls and pockets, paintball has paintballs  and eliminating players

And unless you an avid fan of snooker you wont know what they mean by the term ''english'' just like you wouldnt understand the term ''snapshooting''.

Your post is wrong in soo many ways.

It wont come over night, but who cares if it does or doesn't, if uk paintball started broadcasting on tv would it make you a better player? no.

i go on experience bud,

how many people on here watched the PA on sky?

and i wander how many of joe public watched it.

for those who are actually genuinley interested in what i do i showed them the video's, and as much as i explained it to them, after watching a few games they were bored.

now whether that was down to the commentary? the way it was edited etc who knows.. but i sure as hell cant watch a full DVD of paintball without thinking enough already!

its not just having the programs on tv its making them entertaining and enjoyable and making people aware they are on! you need a nice bit of bait to catch a fish

you say footie has the ball, paintball has paintballs...

the only time you tend to see a paintball is when it explodes on the opposition unless you are standing behind (in front...but most people dont want to stand there!) or near the person

i'm not saying that paintball is completley un watchable!

i'm saying it needs to be engineered heavily to work on tv. i.e player cams etc ref cams, birds eye view cams, computer screen with draw over tech like in snooker and american football

and to be fair the amount of tech needed is a lot more than most sports

and thats another downside!

i'd love to see pball on tv most importantly i'd like paintball to be interesting, fun and enjoyable on tv......i'm just being realistic!

i know where you are coming from mikey

straight up i do!

i know a lot of people in the production business and i know that they hate things which are not straight forward and easy... unless they have a big budget behind them and want to show off a new piece of tech

Well i have an idea and it willl take not just a few of us But the WHOLE of this forum to make an effect, im sure we can all come together and make a point (over the internet) that this is what Television watchers want.

Im going to open up a petition that i will do online then print out and send to Channel 5. i hope the Mods will be for this experiment and see what response we have.

If a Moderator could PM letting me know the rules on this i would be very greatfull ?
