Is the UK suffix in ads here practical?

Don't mean to ruffle anyones feathers but as nearly 99% of all ads on this forum are for the UK does it really make practical sense to add 'UK' for each advert?

Perhaps a better system would be for any ads that are not for the UK to use the appropriate suffix e.g 'NL' 'USA' etc to differentiate them from the vast majority?

Hey, not guilty myself Buddha, as you will see from my many ads, all with the UK suffix added. :)

But, lets be realistic, no matter what you (as in PGI) would like to promote in terms of an international forum, the reality is different.

This IS a UK forum, in that it is hosted by a UK company which has a great majority of UK users, vocal or otherwise. That is a fact.

I have no objection to adding the letters, they are your (as in the collective of the owners and moderators) boards when all said and done and if that is what you would like no problem at all. Just worried it may be yet another case of political correctness gone wrong...

Yeah, true its only a few extra letters, but for those that forget, Paul C obviously sees it as a chance to increase his post count by reminding everyone of their mistake.:p :D :p ;) :D

I'm sorry but whilst I respect your opinion those figures count for little. They are only the ones who participated in one feature. I am sure if you ran an IP trace or similar on the boards the majority of traffic would be found to originate from the UK.

However, I would also accept that the majority of PGI readers (printed medium) are from the US (and abroad) and you would therefore like to ensure they feel welcome when visiting the forum.

With that in mind I will now be quiet :)

The majority of postings, yes, I agree - we often have 40 or 50 non-registered guests browsing around and an awful lot of members who seldom post, so I agree with you in that sense. T

There is a hardcore of a few hundred posters who do 90% of the talking, and of that few hundred 75% are Brits.

Conclusion:
Majority of traffic = non British
Majority of vocal traffic = British

Action plan:
Ban all Brits.

Easy.
