I've played Paintball about 10 times now. A couple at a paintball place but mostly with my friends in fields and construction yards and stuff. They say i'm good for how little i've played. I really get into the game and i already have little ideas of how it should be played for myself. I am really into the Spyder Imagine right now and am pretty sure i'm gonna buy it. i know people say step downs aren't needed unless your gonna use big CO2's but i'm planning on using about 20 oz. or around there. do you think i should have a step down? and what's a good barrel to get on the Imagine? because i want something more then the standard 9 1/2 in. so if anyone with a spyder Imagine could give me tips or just someone who knows about it! i would really appreciate it! thanks

well

ROF=rate of fire
BPS=balls per second

my friend has the imagine select, same thing but has the egrip(electronic grip, higher rof and adjustable shooting modes, like 3 ball burst and full auto, with full auto you need an electronic hopper but full auto will use more gas than semi or 3)

step down? you mean drop forward? they help bring your gun forward so it's not in the way as much and somewhat help balance the weight out due to the balls in the hopper

barrels, your talking to totally different type's of barrels, boomsticks are around $100 to $180, tear drops are around $45, i've heard all good about the teardrops, and the boomsticks are made by dye, a company that only makes top of the line products, dye makes the xcel that about $40, which i've heard good things about to, if you want to know some good products, go to pbreview.com, you can get a review on almost anything paintball

hope this helps

I have the spyder imagine select and i love it. it is a great gun and it is really reliable. i rarley get chopped balls and it has 3 modes of fire.

For the barrel i hear the 14" is a good length barrel and if you want a good barrel you should get a dye boomstick but if dont want to spend alot you should get a tear dop or all american

I've got myself a Spyder Electra which is kind of close to what your looking at. I love this marker, it hasn't chopped and has a great rof. It doesn't like the rain to much though! I say go for it, it's a Spyder so it's a reliable marker and it's low maintanence.

As for the Barrel, I got myself a 14" Dye Boomie coz I didn't want the 12" standard. A Boomstick is a good choice (in my opinion)

The Spyder imagine is a great starter marker. you should get a electronic hopper a 12v Revolution is great for starter Do not get the VL Quantum they are sooo noisey and will drive you insane after a while. also you should go for a 16" Spyder Threaded Boomstick. Then you can go and kill ya mates :D
