Is paintball being promoted enough in the UK?

With the lack of info for the general public about the campaign cup, I'm wondering if we just aren't promoting the sport enough outside of the paintball community. How are members of the general public supposed to know what it's on, if they can watch, what it's about etc when it's website hasn't been updated since the 2005 cup.

I hear people complain there is hardly any major coverage of it, but should we be doing more to get noticed?
i have seen it been promoted in town centes and such, however it is usually by these companies such s delta force who charge rip offf prices for paintballs which can put people off in how much they need to pay to play (£120 for 2000 when you can get that for £25)
there should be more bring your own paintball sites as hey dont lalow this.

Location, Location.
It was promoted last year for campaign cup. Banners in the main shopping area in birmingham, radio adverts etc

Still hardly any people came for a look.

That could of also been because once you got to the train station there were no sign's telling you how to get to it but still, my point stands :)

this is usually the plac where all the newbies go so it mite just put them off a bit. someone needs to promote more sup air sites such as northern quarters (manchester)

People always come up with that 120 quid argument.... Do you have any idea of the logistics involved? Sure, the site owner pays a lot less for his paint, but he has to pay rent for the place where he stores his gear, his field, his staff, his vehicles to get the gear on the site, maintenance on markers, the markers themselves, laundry costs for the coveralls, goggles and so on....
I know for a fact that many of the smaller sites are struggling, because they barely break even. The price of paint the punters pay is NOT the problem.

Go read the UK paintball thread, before we start running in circles here again.

my main point wasn't saying that they charge too much as yes, they do have to run a business, howver the price of paintballs shouldnt be what they charge on. it should be the price to get in that should be higher. im also saying its alot and for people just wanting to get into the sport, they may be discouraged thinkig they have to pay £120 for paintballs and then their own marker setup, clothes etc.
they wont really have any idea what paintball will cost them in the long run.

i also think that the tables set up in town should have more on it.
all i saw one one in leeds was some camoflarge and a mask and some leaflets and a few guys saying "want to try paintballing? it doesnt hurt"

someone needs so show things such as videos, and how you look in all the gear. paintball is a good looking sport and this should be taken advantage of. otherwise people just see paintball as people sneaking around in camoflarge in woods. many people have probably not heared of sup air, i sure hadnt untill i saw it being plaed over in america and even then didnt have a clue what it was until i looked around on the internet and found nq.
