I'm about to fill my 3000 psi tank from a scuba tank. Got all the eqipment. Can I get a step by step, after everyhing is connected? And how will I know when my tank's all the way full, or overfilled?

Right, make sure it is a 3k scuba and your set to go.

Just connect it up, turn the valve and fill slowly, when theres no hissing at all left then the bottle is full.

Well,
On some of these newer compressed air tanks, they've got this new feature called a guage. I've never used one myself, but I hear you just watch the guage and it tells you how much air is in your tank. If you happen to have one with a guage on it, I guess you could probably just watch the guage and fill at the same time, and when the guage hits 3000 psi, stop filling.

Well you see, not every guage is correct, plus the manufacturers dont take into account that the guage will be facing in every direction, depending on the air system, cos i know with mine, the guage is facing downwards when i fill it.

Can't see what difference the direction of the guage would make meself either?? Surely the pressure holds the guage needle in place, not gravity??

huh ?
strange...

my tank turns on the fill nipple....if the gauge is facing down, turn the tank around.

If it is facing the scuba tank, just kneel by it.

It if is facing away from the tank, kneel at the other side.

If the position makes it impossible to control the scuba valve while holding the tank you are filling and reading the gauge, get someone else to watch the gauge....

or am I missing something that is different from my setup....

my best

My set up has it so theguage is facing the drop forward, making it impossible to see when filling. Cant do it any other way unless i get new reg which faces the other way.
