i dont reckon you cud find that in a pro team..especially like when we play a majour tournie and the night b4 we go out and get very messy and still get up in the mornin to shoot fools! and win..i knw ud never find that in a po team.
ohh and also marcy c just wanted to say ur site is amazin!! and tigers well done for how well u did in the pro tour big respect!!:p
Over and over with this "unique bond" talk is beginning to sound suspiciously festive ... not that there's anything wrong with that.

wow

Little Mark,

I mean no offence, but spell the words for us. Some of us spend more time fitting in the vowels and crap to make it sound right in our heads.

If you've got a character limit on your keyboard I understand.

 ok ok i will try and use full english just for you! well..not really just for you hehe but you are going off the topic with that one..
And for the whole unique bond part..when i say that i mean by the freindship you have with all the players on the team that you have built up over each training session and tournie..because i feel like i have a better bond with my paintball mates than i do my normal mates from like college..
but that could just be me?? :p

 no im not saying that at all..of course pro teams have bond and make mistakes, every one makes mistakes.
But wat i was saying was that if u moved to a pro team from say DIV1 wud you find the same bond you had with your old team with them? and wud they allow you to make as many mistakes as you could get away with as you did in DIV1?
 :D :D

You become the best by playing the best. Truth be told, we might have a handful of potential next-Ollie Langs on our island that will never come to be, simply because they never play paintball or never get the chance to grind it against the best.

As for leaving your team, thats a decision only you can make. Do you want to carry on having a laugh with mates, or improve yourself in paintball? There's nothing wrong with either choice, as they both are noble options. I personally wanted to better myself and ended up training with the Tigers, I can say it bettered my game ten-fold and I made new lifelong mates in the process, so it was win-win, but before I made the move I had no idea what to expect.

I really don't think that pros should be looked at negatively. They genuinely give up the most of us all to be where they are (relationships, jobs, fatigue, money) and I think very few (and probably mostly yanks) can achive it from talent and talent alone. Not saying we dont have talent here, but it needs to be supplemented with dedication, get me? I think you'll find few pros who dont play for the love of the game, there isnt enough reward or recognition in it otherwise. They do it to be the best, to play the best and to prove themselves against the best.

If you play paintball for a laugh, dont feel bad about carrying on as you are, it'll be cosy and a good time. If you play paintball for the passion, always look for the oportunities to improve, be it anything from a pro-clinic to an entirely new team, thats what will excel you in game. You'll make mates wherver you go in this game, its just that some will expect more from you than others!

I think you'll find there are two types of teams that go to events. The first kind is composed of friends and is there primarily to have fun. The second kind is composed of teammates and is there primarily to win.

All teams would like to win. The difference is that for one it's a benefit and the other it's the main purpose. While the second kind of team can have fun, it's not their main reason for playing. As you go up in the ranks you'll find more of the second kind of team than you will the first.

so to answer your question - if I just want to have fun and enjoy the game, I'm not joining the pro team. If I'm driven to win and feel the need to dominate my opponents, I join the pro team.

Exactly what Shamu said. There are no half-measures. You can either ball to win and get better, or ball to have a laugh. If you take the opposing attidue for either camp, you might find that you go against the flow of your teammates. Decided whats best for *you* and follow that path. Ball with like-minded people, and you cant go wrong!

- The whale nailed it.

To quote my team mate Nikolai:

"Paintball is fun - but I don't play for fun"

Nothing wrong with playing for fun - but if you play to win, you need to be on a team that feels the same way - anything else will frustrate you to no end.
