Well it is useful in getting across meaning or understanding what someone else is saying, something which I struggle with in most of your plentiful, if somewhat lacking, posts.

Rephrase that to "shouldn't be able" and you'll be closer to truth. You can get a patent on anything these days, provided that you are able to make it look complicated.

And I believe US Patent law allows you to patent things that the UK Patent laws dont.

Look at Apple and Creative.

Creative filed a retrospective patent for a 'database that sorts media by artist/album/song name'. The patent was granted and Apple had to either a) stop selling Ipod's or b) pay creative a shedload of cash.

Unfortunately, it seems like you can patent pretty much anything and we really wont know the full extent of this until after the court hearing. It'll probably end up that if anything, Dxs have to pay to license the patent rather than stop selling the pulse though.
