outside sponsors: only good for the major teams as coca cola etc dont want to sponsor team numpty from numpty ville.

Prices going down?: more likely up/same for the short term so as companies can capitilise on more people getting in to sport.

paint deals: stretched even thinner by a sudden increase in teams wanting deals on paint. only the minority recieve...

that'll do for the moment :D would you care to comment msr. Stongle? ;)

Rather than the question "is it good for paintball to become mainstream"

The question to proceed that should be "will paintball ever become mainstream"

My opinion: No :)

Actually Mario's question does require a qualifier but not the one Parksy offered.
Mario is obviously viewing "Paintball" as the players, and more specifically, the average player--but that isn't the sum of Paintball per se. But it does open an interesting line of speculation. Should PB gain something like mainstream popularity just what will the result be--for promotors, field owners, industry, players?

thank you baca :) im honoured that you think i brought up an interesting line of speculation....:D

EDIT ADDED: One of my favorite PB subjects actually and one the "average player" might be well-advised to give some thought to. TFP

I think it would be great of paintball ascertained the same status as Skateboarding or BMX. They're hardly what I'd term mainstream, yet still manage to attract outside interest and support.

Anymore than that, or push harder to break beyond the realms of "alternative sport", will probably be doomed to failure. It's not as though shooting at people (even with fangible balls) is ingrained in the national psyche.

We could become mainstream, but I think that will only be after a Nuclear War. Where teams from different Subterranean Cities compete against each other in a future sport. Except we'll shoot depleted uranium balls at light speed and fly around on hover scooters. The trophies will be made out of clean drinking water, and we'll get a 100 trillion credits.

Perhaps some people know something I don't.....;)

errrr you know me so well. only 2 pints of "wifebeater" at lunch today.

I did answer the question, see the second part of response. Clean drinking water and a 100 trillion credits is a good thing in the post-apocalyptic wilderness. Blimey Cow thought that would be obvious.
