It was kind of an odd show though, it was ok from a meerly entertainment point of view but didn't exactly paint :) an accurate picture of paintball for the ill-informed viewer.

r we talking about the same tv prog rancid?.........im on about the one were when you were shot out you had to lie on the floor and play dead...and do the dying fly as you went down. oh yes and them daft big guns that were used. if any prog has done good for ball its mission paintball on bravo, that was dam good...as close as you could get to tourney ball......but still keeping the punters and newbie into it.we had a lot of ppl come down to the site beacause of bravo and have a go for the first time.but that channel four thing made most of my friends {that dont play} think we play at war. it took me age to explain it away.

The Ch4 program (Called X-FIRE) is the one im talking about too, with the driving into the "arena" in Vans & disabling Satellites & Doomsday Devices etc etc.

Those dodgy so called "special forces" were the stupidest thing tho, they just stood there completely out of cover and never moved. and the dodgy splat noise they dubbed over the show every time someone got shot followed by "EMULSIFIED" in a deep drone type voice.
The thing is it was SO obvious that they either froze the whole game every 20 seconds to get the camera angles, or Re-inact all the deaths after they had finished dancing about.

I could go on all day about how dumb that show is.

Mother, is that you?
yeah, that's the one I mean as well.

Apologies to anyone who's heard this before but.....

Guys, to you and me it looked like a pile of pants - it's nothing like our beloved game. BUT, the viewing figures and response to this on sites all around the country was significant. Remember, Joe Public doesn't see the cheese, he doesn't ponder whether this represents paintball the sport - he/they see summat a bit out of the ordinary, and summat that looks like fun. What does he do next? He gets some mates together, finds a local site and they go and emulsify each other. Result? Ten thousand prospective paintball players of which a percentage may come over to the darkside (toruney play).

Ask the big site owners what they would rather see on tv - an accurate potrayal of paintball the sport, or accessible stuff like x-fire and that Bravo thing.

im with you on what you r saying rancid...just think that bravo was much better for all. ppl at work saw that prog and lol at me "is that what you do, play war" and many had no intension of going to a site to have a go. then bravo came along and many of them saw that beacause i told them to whatch it. result! "come on sort a pb day out on the site"

HOLD FAST!
Hasn't the mission paintball thing on bravo finished now? as it used to be on like ever day in the week, but never on at weekends :(
I think the BBC or ITV are going to release a tourny ball program sometime. Although that mught just be a false rumour.
