sorry if this has already been said but i'm too tired to read all the posts!

But anyway....
maybe the media footage of the b52's is all part of a cunning plan, and the planes were already over there blowing stuff up!!

I honestly think that you cant trust any media sources during times of political importance (see if you can guess why) but if you try and keep an open mind and listen to all the sides of the story you may even uncover some truths (like what the fire-fighters were up to on sept 11th before the towers came down, apart from saving people!-just an example).

Also from looking at the other posts there are alot of good points and some people obviously know alot more about politics than me, but i get the feel some people out there in computer land are just being told what to think by the news, why not listen to what they're saying and make up your own mind!!? Television is one of the most powerful political tools out there, more powerful than most 'super' weapons, accept it for what it is and dont just watch, think as well.

Propaganda war.

I was watching the Sky news coverage last night, halfway through a broadcast the reporter was interupted by someone yelling lots of Arabic at him, he'd been watching hits on the republican guard HQ and was talking about it....... he was ordered not to say what was getting hit by his "minders".

Hmmm. Some people are just too stupid to be allwed on radio (even talk radio...) I hope there are some more rational defences of the "Lets not bomb the hell of of them" policy than that one

P.s. my thoughts and prayers also go out to the families who have lost loved ones in these terrible accidents.

Well I really don't now why I'm replying to this post except that whether you agree with what's happening in Iraq or not unfortunatley it seems to be the world that we now live in. We all would like things to change but until people like Saddam are taken out of power it's not going to happen. These people control by fear and terror! the normal civvies don't get everyday facilities they need that we living in civilised countries take for granted. Iraq is one of the richest countries in the world when it comes to the oil it produces, yet you don't see the peolpe benefiting from it, why? That's a question and a half that maybe worth thinking about. These people have suffered for years and I think it's about time someone did something about it! Yeah the yanks are in it for the oil, Blair is Bush's puppet - everyone's entitled to an opinion that i don't necessarily agree with but right now these guys out there are risking thier lives to make the world a safer place and to give the Iraqi people the freedom and the right to have an opinion without the risk of who knows what on them or their families. To give them a quality of life that every human being deserves.
As for the news - well they only tell what the forces want you to know. All I here is why don't they do this? why don't they do that? Well for those of us in the know theres a shed load we ain't getting told on the news. I also know from experience theres a lot we will never know about. War is physcological it is as important if not more so than the battles. You also have the troops who follow up to treat and feed the civvies. If they roll in all gun ho a whole world of poo can erupt.
Wars happen and until someone finds a more humane way to deal with people like Saddam they are still gonna happen. He had 12 years to prove what the world were asking for and choose not too. Instead he made himself richer and more comfortable at his peoples cost.
My main point is whether you agree with it or not we should be backing our troops as there the ones that are on the front line taking the risks. These Iraqi's have the right to live without fear and with the basic necessaties of life!
