Would not be cheating if you wiped by accident and told ref and left game. If you wiped the paint of your hopper and continued playing then after the game said oh ref I wiped yes you would loose prizes.

is the PA & masters going to do this? i doubt it.
american paintball has been televised for much longer and i dont believe they enforce this?
it just cant work out, camera's will just be aimed at people that are more likely to cheat so it will be biased and just another way for teams to winge for much, much, much, much, much, longer knowing that something could be done about it or even edited to look like a cheat weeks later!!!!
of course unless you pay 10 camera men it will be fine! and then 4 for the reffs to ensure they dont miss anything (uk refs do not need camera support, they are the best in the business)
do the 14 camera's get reviewed between every game or at the end of the event when people are packing there stuff up cos its dark?
all fun will be lost.
another thing - how can the rules be changed by someone who actually plays the event? does that not mean that person can change the rules to suit his team so that they stand more chance of winning or just in anyparticular instance change rules to suit that team?
i love the ionman but isnt this just silly?

Ok folks a couple new rules for the Ionman event !

From now on we will be videoing as many games as we can and watching them for wiping. Due to several players being reported for doing this on the day. Wipng is going to be wiped out (pardon the pune) If you are caught on camera wiping (even after the event) your captains will be shown the video eveidence and your team will loose the placing and prizes from that event. Hopefully we will never have to use this evidence or method, but wiping will not be tolerated at the Ionman. The event is a fun day built on honesty and trust and a friendly atmosphere.

All paintball will have people accuse others of wiping, if we hear constant reports about one or more people, we will inform the captains who they are, this does not say they have or did wipe. It is as a way of hopefully resolving any more issues before they begin.

IF YOU READ THIS INFORM YOUR TEAM MATES AS THESE RULE COME IN FROM TODAY AND IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THEM ON THE NEXT EVENT DAY THAT IS NOT OUR FAULT.

Thanks Universal / NSPA
Had to highlight parts in bold because how can an event be of fun, when every player that others whinge about are then under scrutiny? All of a sudden the fun element is being reduced. At the same time you have stated that you hope to never use the evidence but above it you say how the Captains will be informed.

Chris I can see your point and I think in principal your idea is good, but no I can not see this working. Especially when you are contridicting yourself.

Am glad to hear everyone is enjoying the supair events, I hope it continues to grow.

I love the ionman event and everything it stands for, but here is my post from ionman forum:

Seriously? Then if you are gonna do this why bother paying top dollar for UK refs. Obviously you musnt think doing their jobs effectively if you need to be recording every game to catch wipers?
How are you going to record every player on the field on both teams an equal amount? For instance, what if a player gets hit running to a bunker and dives and the hit is lost (acidently)? Say the ref doesn’t see it but ‘beadles about’ catches it on his handy cam, you then going to ban that team for something that wasn’t picked up on the field.

Bloody hell man, isn’t this taking the whole ‘enforcing’ the rules thing a bit OTT? Surely what happens on the field should be dealt with by the refs, not some whinger complaing that he thinks someone wiped, when really he missed or it bounced?

What is stopping me coming to you after every game and saying, ’that team we just played wiped’. Whether I thought they had or not, you would have to go back to the tape andlook for footage of ‘what you deem’ to be a wipe from them, then they’d be screwed, for what Is essentially me being a **** and hoping that they did something wrong and got penalised!

If you are gonna do this for wiping does that mean you are gonna be checking calls made by refs and reversing them, checking guns touching start gates and pulling people from games after events, you see a gun shooting what you think is a little fast, you gonna 141 them?

This is madness, you say the ionman is about fun, well to me having my every single move recorded in case I ‘cheat’ isnt fun.

Im all against wiping and I totally agree with the 341 penalty it gets but come on, this is so flawed it’s unbelievable.
The refs are there for a reason, they are UK refs, the best in the business. If the PSP can trust them to do the job on the field why cant you?!

This is only gonna end badly when someone is falsely acused.

Why not have a proper set of rules like the PA/Masters have and actually enforce them rather than trying to reinvent the wheel? As it stands there is no set rule book for the ionman.

I have never seen anyboody 141'd on the field at an ionman event...this is either because everyone plays fair, or because e the refs have been told not to do it.

does this rule still stand then or has it it been scrapped and back to the good old ionman that everyone was already enjoying and commenting on highly?

I wiped by accident and reported it to the uk refs, would that mean i would loose use our team in the future?
How do you wipe by accident?

Gotta agree with Mr Tinfish here, I can't see how it's going to be workable, and the simple answer is to get more than 3 refs on the field.

NSPA

The Mouth
From the Mouth

As you all know The Mouth has never ever made a controversial post, but here goes!

The NSPA is as much Universal, as Universal is as much NSPA. We are as one!

For the majority I think this is what people/teams want, cos I'll be damned it's what the Mouth wants and from the feed back about the Ionman Tourney it's what we all want!

Whatever decisions are made about the Ionman event it's for the good of the Northern Tournament scene, it may not be the biggest Tourney in the country, but it's marvelous fun! When any Tourney has the backing from the P.A. it's worth backing!

Universal/NSPA hope you all agree?

What happens after July 27th no one knows! It'll be a bleed'n shame to lose Mr C's dream!

P.S. (to all who know T.M? Think of the devastating consequence of The Mouth being without its very much needed resource!):D

P.P.S (and you all thought I meant liquour. No It's belief in what Universal/NSPA want to acheive)

This is the very last time The Mouth posts under ther the influence of emotion. (wouldn't care, but could have come up with something more poignant and hard hitting when I'd been at the office!)

Just think before you post guys! We all have to give and take. Lets not waste a splendid thing!
