have looked aroundat some of the stuff mentioned and i can't work out which stuff is best, barrels in particular

Powerlyte Sceptor is definatly one of the best, although you can't beat a good dye boomstick its pretty close, but I would definatly say and I'm sure others will aggree if you want a barrel with inserts/different bores then the Sceptor kit is the best.

I personally recommend just using the stock gun for a couple of walk-ons first. The Ion has been made to be a pretty good marker as standard. Once you've seen its capabilities as standard, compared with everyone else, then you'll be able to make your own decisions, as it's all personal preferance. Some people are prepared to spend more on upgrades than the cost of the original marker.

gotta agree, Use it and find out what you dont like about it.
If the feedneck doesnt bother you, why change it?
If you dont need to shoot more than 17 BPS then why upgrade your board?
It really depends what you want from it.

A good barrel kit, and if your concerened about cosmetics and accessing the bolt easily a good body kit wouldnt go down to bad either. Also if you want more efficiency then a firefly bolt or simular would do.

If you wanna pimp your ion up. I got a nice little trinity 'sick' 06 body for sale at the mo. (blue 2 black fade).
Wont improve the performance but will make your gun look the nuts 'n' stand out from the rest of the ion owners on the field
