all you people slateing dye slick, but when i had my ion had 2 bolts Orange and stock, and used both and didnt get any trouble at all with either! may have a problum with the LBM (plastic you say?) bolt but not with stock or orange. i seem to remember that shocker (pink stuff) was a lil better in the cold

Interesting that Crumpler's experience doesn't back this up (tho - no offence - you seemed to be forever posting you were having trouble with your ion, where as we, and plenty of other teams, ran them all year with virtually no problems at all) but Ions, like all spool valves, are intolerant to the wrong 'viscosity' of grease, and I've had to repair several for other people at tourneys now where all I've done is strip, clean and regrease with Dow 33 and they've been fine.

It's not, as noted, the only grease that'll do, but it is a great starting point.

Admittedly I havent held one in my hand but from what I've seen and heard I'm pretty sure the LBM is made of some sort of higher wear Delrin relative... maybe Nylatron or something.

QFT. DYE lube isnt viscous enough.

I have an LBM bolt and stages 2 and 3 to go with, there has never been a problem with these sticking, i use shocker lube on my Ion and it works fine

I do believe the problem is down to the lube you are using, as far as im aware (please say if i am wrong) Dye lube is dow 55, which as stated before isnt as Viscose and sticks more

hope that helps, shocker lube or any other dow 33 lube should clear the problem up, anything else i can help ya with give me a PM

-Mat

Edit: no one knows what LBM is, he wont say lol, maybe this is a job for scooby do and the gang.

Dye Slick Lube

Let me just clear this up....

The Slick lube is very good in the summer months but for the cold cold UK winter (11 months of it) Dow33 is a techs best friend, trust me I know;)

Dow 55 is the same colour as Dow 33, the Dye lube i've got is green, and much thinner.
