ion/epiphany issue

okay this one stumps me.....it sounds like it could be bolt-stick but???

on slow (around 3bps tops) she fires fine - whick lets face it ain't much use.

open up the throttle with eyes on and she goes - BANG BANG BANG PHTTT - end of...

turn eyes off and its more like:

BANG BANG BANG PFTT PFTT BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG PFTT PFTTT PFTT BANG...you get the picture.

she ran like a real dream for around half dozen pods and a hopper on a fresh procell - out shooting my old ego7 on semi :)

then the problem arrived - changed battery - same problem continued :(

thoughts?

Have you checked out the oring inside the breach (just behind the feedneck)?
If that one isnt popping out properly it can cause that problem.

What pressures/inserts are you runing?

How does it perform at... say 350fps?

running green insert at around 250psi - gives a nice steady 280fps.
oring seems fine
other possibilites checked tonight and seem fine
haven't measured fps but it stops firing completely at just over the 300psi mark

weirdly tonight i managed to dump a hopper and pod very quickly with no problems at all - never missed a beat - following pod, startd to play up again....

i'm somewhat stumped.....i'm going to strip and clean the inline reg as the next point of call.......

Do you have a qev installed? Mine done this when i put 1 in and lowered the dwell, ran fine for a while then the same as the problem you have. Upped the dwell about 5 clicks and cleaned the qev works fine for me now. Just a thought :D

no qev.

but i'm going to do a retune tonight after stripping the reg so will get the dwell reset as well.

will also try running it with various boards (currently the spitfire v2)- i'll lift the blackheart from the epi'd sp8 and try the stock epi board as well......

If you havent already, try using a fresh premium battery, just to rule that out. (alot of the time Procells can be as good as premium alkalines, but not always)

Another thing to try is change the insert to lower the pressure slightly.
Give the noid a bit less work to do. (after all, the epiphany rated noid is still the same noid underneath)
