Timmy - Marcus is coming round my house next week sometime and so I'll ask him for you - we're gonna be doing an interview concerning his return to woodland tournaments and what he hopes to achieve with the rebirth of the Preds ..... I understand that a few weeks ago at Holmbush, 28 teams turned up which is amazing when for all intents and purposes, woodland team tournaments seem to be a thing of the past - it seems not.
Marcus was there with a lot of the old faces and friends from over 20 years back, including my brother who was guesting for the Turks.
The Preds were a point off or so from winning the event and this seems to have reignited Marcus's love for the game, and indeed his competitive spirit.

I thought I'd seen the frikkin last of him and the Preds, and so I'm now expecting all my nightmares will return :(

From what I hear, Twizz and his partner are doing a really good job in nurturing this rebirth and so I hope they can keep this ball rolling ... 'Good luck to them' is what I say ...

With Ainsley and Ged Green up in the midlands/north, we've got Ronnie Hollington [Mayhem] and Twizz down south, I think we're in safe hands, and it seems the future looks decidedly green .. 'woodland green' in fact !

PS as you know Marcus is coming round my house tomorrow to do an interview with myself. I was gonna video it like the last one I did on my home video-cam but
Media Cartel got in touch and asked if they could come round and video it on the basis they have all the proper cameras etc .... I don't really have a problem with that and so I okayed it with Marc and he's cool with it..

Anyways, I know it's a bit late but if anybody has any questions for Marcus or myself then please feel free to message it to me or post it up on here.
The interview is supposed to start at 11.00 am'ish but I'm sure myself and Marc will be swapping war stories and so the videoing might be a tad late.

Ok, all is cool in the world of paintball now after we cleared house and so we'll see what dramas tomorrow brings.

oo!!!

So as someone on the doorstep of 40 myself and recently bitten by the bug of tournament ball, basically to see all my old friends again.

Marcus how is it rolling up to the field, grabbing cases of paint, and strapping up again? Is it like a weekend has past? Or do you feel as if years have past?

Have you found yourself drawing on years of paintball knowledge to offset the pure speed/flexibility of these young tiny *******s on the field :)

P.S. I loved the first interview and had a blast saying hi to @Robbo in London at the Mills...and then spending 15 minutes explaining why the younger members of my team should learn UK paintball history.
"Who's that Mike?"
"Uhh that's Robbo...godfather *arguably* of UK tournament speed ball?!!?!?"
"Hah ok whatever"
"WTF I'm American and know that!"

@Robbo Did this interview ever happen with the media cartel guys? Any idea when the footage will get released?
Ollie, Martin from Media Cartel came round my house as he said he would but he's gotta do some editing because once you get Marcus talking, you'd need an elephant gun to slow him down.
Hopefully, it will be interesting for people who've never seen or heard about Marcus before.
He's basically using a mobile defibrulator to help kick-start a few of the old Preds back into action along with a couple of extras with a view to reforming the team leastwise in its 5 man iteration.
It will prove to be an interesting excersise to see how they do and I wish them all well.
I'm kinda hoping this woodland tournament resurgence is not just a flash in the pan but going on how many teams turned up at the last Holmbush event, 28 I think, things are looking encouraging.

Having played the woodland masters (alongside your brother) and against the preds I can confirm two things; the woodland series is definitely not a flash in the pan and the Preds are still king of the woods. The game we played against them I didn't see a single of one of the f**kers and got shot out, like a complete punter, in about 20 seconds. Dust off your automag and come give it a go
