go back to your students union with 50 signatures of people wanting the club, they can not say no, it is following the NUS rules for setting up clubs.

QUESTION TO ALL

5man or 7man for this tourney?
when to do it?
What is your favourite paint so we can seek help?
Do we contact suppliers for sponsorship and trade sales?
Media?
Where?

Questions...

My opinions would be:
What? ... 5 man limited - (students don't have much money)
When? ... Wednesday afternoons are good as lots of unis dedicate these to sports and training
Or maybe just at the end of the year after the exams
Fav. Paint? ... Zap Mars is good.
Suppliers? ... Probs best to get it going and then invite trade and suppliers.
Media? ... You never know.
Where? ... Somewhere up NOrth - there's loads down south - although i guess it would have to be fairly central. There could be a regional strucutre where there's a northern tourney, a midlands tourney, and a southern tourney and then there could be a central tourney for the regional finalists.

(Probably more detail than you wanted there - just my thoughts).

I agree on five man limited. But think paint should be BYO unless a particular paint company agrees to heavily sponsor the event.

BYO and sponsored at the event? Caters for everyone

York Uni will definatly be there, I'd agree with 5 man. Nottingham is a good location. I'm excited!

HERE IS GOOD NEWS

here is some good news on the organisation side of the event.

after speaking to bully we have come up with:-

A SITE - the SPIRIT site in Lancaster (Sup'Air)
A DATE - 13th JULY - a saturaday.
PRICES - £100 per team inc marshalls and prizes, insurance.
A Trade show, Bully to run tourney, 3 fields,
camping available, hotels near by

ruling - 5 man, (here is a question) if we get a paint deal from someone ie say £30-35 per box do we go for unlimited paint but if we don't do we go for limited - hopper plus 1 pot or 2 pot - lets discuss. 6 man squad.

i'll call paint suppliers about 'sponsorship' for us.

we will have prizes.

£50 deposit.

also on the sunday is the series 2002 uk limited paint championships - so you can play that also - speak to bully.

we can set this up and get it on.

I live in lancaster and didn't know of any paintball site
if its true then can you give me some contact details for it

Ok Rich,
Well done for getting things going. Put Bath down for it wether we bring an official or unofficial team. Sup' air is definately the way to go. See if you can get hold of the diablo, jt or angel fields if not try and get in at least one tubeless.
Allow larger squads than six man so more people get to play and to bring the cost down. Would you be willing for uni's to bring more than one team? If you need any help in anyway or other I am willing. Playing ltd would close the large gap between the experience and inexperienced players.
Also quite important have you found so,meone that can rent guns to teams without their own. This opens up the possibility for many more teams to play. And with three field you want at least 20 teams.

Bring as many uni teams as you want .
union cards/nus cards/university cards will be required(i think) to stop ringers
your help will be required.
i'll give a call around for rental guns unless anyone can get some.
we have access up to 3 fields

Try the site it's being run at for rental guns as it;'s unlikely they will have punters if a tourney is going on.
