Input pressures for speed 05

In a couple of weeks time, I’m about to place an order for a 05 speed but I’m unsure if I need to order another air system. The current one I have is a manifold max-flow 4500 with an output pressure of about 180psi. I currently use it on an impulse. I heard that the mini reg on the 05 speed can be gutted to allow the marker to run at low pressures. If this is possible, will my current air system be good enough to do this?

Bear in mind I’ve had no experience in using an angel up until a few months ago.

You could do that, or remove the brass over pressure vent from the maxflo, plug the hole and then you'll be able to wind the maxflo up enough to run the speed ok.

Ive got no idea whatsoever 'bout Angels- Im going to order an 05 Speed and I need to choose a light air system.
It'll run on a 4500 preset won't it?

As long as the output pressure is LP (i.e., 450 psi as opposed to HP 850 psi) or you do the reg mod.

Same sort of question really, but the other way round. Ive got a Speed 05, and was going to use a PMI HP preset on it, which isnt obviously ideal, but does it do it any harm particularly?
