If this is the roster rules for this year, then hell yeah they are different from last year! As I have read and understood them, you could switch team as many times as wanted as long as it was in the same division - you could move down once, but then you couldn´t move up again. After the beginning of the 4th tournament the roster of any div. 1 and 2 team was locked and no further players could be added.

So this year no switching teams what so ever - if you played for a team once then you stay there througout the entire season, and you can only move up divisions not down - did I get that right?

So - when will these new rules in fact be made official - and maybe even in writing.... ;)

BTW: Sorry for wrecking your topic!!!!!!
Yep thats right! Don't know when the official bit will be out(I don't know it may have already have come into effect) but that is what one of the head guys at MS sent me.

god damn are these rules set out by the people that write the manuals for MFI cupboards. How about laymen terms . if rules where kept plain and simple things would run so much smoother. Though i do take my hat off to the poor guy that has had to write them as surley he must be as confused about all this as we the players are. So can i borrow a player and not have him locked into my team for the rest of the millenium or not as i guess the team who he has commitement to would not be to happy with me

No, because when you buy an MFI cupboard they do at least include the blurred, ambiguous instruction sheet in the box. No such luck with a Millennium event.

It seems that if you have a player guest with you, they can then only play with Zone for the rest of the season. And you can't take a anyone who played Div 2 or higher at Marseille, but a Div 3 player would be OK. Obviously there's a good reason for this, but it really is a bit too restrictive. A single-player, single-event exemption would be useful for teams without affecting sandbagging too much. Or better a points-based system as suggested by a few people last year.

It would be terribly stupid to suddenly make these new rules AFTER the first event - seriously - how many guest players do you think teams in all divisions had, who didn´t in a million years think it would have any effect on them playing with their own team at some point later this year?!

If a rule like this was to be made, it should without any doubt have been made official prior to the first event - or else it makes no sence what so ever! After giving it a lot of thinking, I doubt very much this is for real!

Let me see... makes no sense, is bad for the players and teams, imposed and announced mid-season. Looks like something the MS would do!

Indeed, I emailed them at the start of the year before the 1st event to see if the rules were changing this season, they replied with "the rules are being finalised but should be annouced before the first event". I then asked for an update a couple of days ago as I was interested in going to germany or spain and got back the reply above.

Again it seems the MS has really dropped the ball on this one. But like I said I don't know when the rules came into effect, if they have at all.

Your point? :D

It would be terribly stupid to start the season without publishing the rules, or even leaving last year's rules available on the website, as a point of reference for the new rule changes.

It would be terribly stupid to announce a (albeit minor) change to the gun rules at the Captain's meeting on Thursday evening, leaving teams 14 hours to ensure compliance with the new rules.

It would be terribly stupid not to at least make rulebooks available to the field judges during the event.

Anyway, as far as we can tell this rule change was made before the season started, but since the rulebook is communicated by word of mouth only it's no surprise that things are a little unclear.
