I'd say the worst thing of all that we've learned here is that you and I are on here checking these forums frequently enough that we're able to post as though we were on an instant messenger

You can find the original Midi rail at www.marksmann.com, this is a flat rail which can almost certainly be bent to fit your setup, if you ask them nicely they might even bend one to order.
I have old copies of PGI from the time Marksmann launched the "revolutionary midi rail" with Robbo pushing them in ads as "making your marker shorter and more compact" and "better balanced" and guess what- everybody bought one. Or ripped off the design, resulting in the now deeply dreadful drop forward. Paintball fashion being what it is, all the little monkeyboys on PBNation now hurl their own faeces at anyone not using an Alias Timmy with CP rail and ASA, please don't let P8 go that way. Knee-jerk posts telling people to ditch their chosen setup in favour of the marker 'o the month smell too much like the dynasty Forum on PBNation to me
