Yeah, using a rail and asa will give you like 20 more bps, more accuracy, and make your penis longer  Seriously, why is everybody all of a sudden telling everybody to not use a drop forward? It's about personal preference and comfort, if you like a drop, use a drop.

And getting back to the original topic, Category 5 makes a drop that's adjustable up and down, so you can adjust it to clear your reg. See it here: http://store.yahoo.com/actionvillage/031-174-0001.html

That was dont use a drop IF YOU CAN HELP IT...its a fact that using a drop, can make it more uncomfortable and a less tight profile. It wasn't a cust a dried statement...the individual may not be aware that not using a drop is an option!
While I doubt it would make anyone's penis longer, particularily female players, a more stable platform could improve accuracy and could make it easier to walk the trigger (did for me) so, yes a few more Bps might be possible.:D

Depending what reg you are using, if it's a MaxFlow, you can get special drop's designed to fit the MaxFlow dovetail, so you dont need the rail that they come with, from NewDesignz. It's usually the guages on the reg that get in the way, or the neck of the bottle, so a deeper drop would be required.

Impy's are quite tall markers anyway, so the more the drop, the taller the overall height becomes and the less tight you can get.

You don't have to explain to me why not to use a drop, I've never had one on any of my markers for my own personal reasons, but everybody acts like it's a cardinal sin now to use one, or that you're missing out on something if you don't use a rail and asa. I don't care for one personally, but I certainly wouldn't discourage someone from buying one if that's what he likes. And if there's someone out there who doesn't know that you can mount an air tank without a drop, he has been living in a cave for the past several years, and his marker is probably too outdated to compete anyway :)

He/she should know about a bottomline/rail especially if he/she hasn't been playing long, as most rental/newbie markers have straight bottomline ASA and no drop. Plus if he/she is on a high enough level to have bought an Impulse, he/she should know at least a little about marker setups, and air source adapters.

Maybe...but Should, and do are two completely different things as I am sure you would agree...anyway, we know drops have their place and we know that they can help, but, a rail and ASA is generally tighter, tho it mat make the marker a touch longer...it usually means a more comfy grip position and you dont have to wrap your arm around your tank!!

I shoot an A4, and before that, an IR3, and before that an LCD that I Space Framed, so a drop on any of my markers is totally useless, as the 90 degree frame requires a straight asa to work properly. But hey, if this guy wants a drop, whatever tickles his pickle. Impy's always feel unfomfortable to me anyway, so I'm in no position to say what feels best.
