impys and cockers are both gr8 guns.
but as a 1st time torni player i would recomend an impulse.
you may be able to pick up an impulse vison 2nd hand for the price of a new normal impulse. this MAY be a better optin.

cockers are high maintainance (im my opinion:mad: )

or just get an angel lcd!

As always, the best advice is to try out both, and see which one suits you better. If your local shop doesn't have any you can hold in your hands then pop down to a local walk-on and see if you can have a go with someone else's... most people are willing to let you have a go as long as the standard "you broke it, you bought it" rule applies. ;)

Cockers are pretty maintenence free unless you start to tinker- i would say the vision imp if you want a marker for right now, or a cocker if you want a marker for life- they rule, very solid and they go 'clunk glonk' each time they fire. plus the upgradeability and customisation options on a cocker are pretty awesome. Other thing i've noticed is some impulse parts look very delicate, having never owned one i wouldn't like to say whether they are or not.

remember a cocker is for life- not just for christmas!
